Great Scott! ORIGINAL RECORDINGS REMASTERED SET

(little) Jimmy Scott was not only a great interpretive voice in jazz standards but a great voice. He was screwed terribly by record companies ,and, record company owners. He was taunted by people during performances due to his high pitched singing ( these recordings are from the 50's and 60's and really show his talents. He retired for these reasons and was found working in a hotel in Ohio. He was "rediscovered" and recorded "All OF ME". This is a great albums of covers,and though his voice is not what it once was, he is an interpretor without betters. I remember him ,as a kid in Pittsburgh, listening to him on the jukebox and always wondered what happened to Jimmy. He finally got his just deserts finally before dying a month ago. He was a soft guy with a big heart and an even bigger voice. God Bless Jimmy!

Great album, great songs from an old master

This man's performance on the material in this compilation of years of recordings is sublime. He is the bomb. How could we have lost him all those years? He is a seminal singer who has influenced any and many who would call themselves "singer" His interpretations of ALL of the songs on this twin CD set is impeccable.

Cannot say enough good about this collection of his earlier recordings. Incredible. I can listen to this for hours and hours and still want more.

I enjoyed it. Voice reminds me of Frankie Lymon.

A must for your collection.

Davvero da sentire! una voce bellissima e sensibile, a volte si ha il dubbio di sentire una donna cantare e invece è propro li nel dubbio di un mondo non completamente conosciuto che le canzoni, i testi, si caricano di un'insolita consapevolezza. Il suono della masterizzazione poi è bello pieno.
