A superbly executed thriller
Read it in a day because I had to see how the plot would unravel.I sussed out all of the reveals, the clues were all there. Laid out like breadcrumbs to follow.I do love Alessandra’s romance books, and the ones where the romance is a bit twisty, but when she writes as AR Torre, you know you are going on a wild adventure. The Last Party is excellently written. The plot is superbly executed.Perla is such a complex character. Her flaws are clear, nothing is hidden from the reader. The adventure is more about waiting to see just how Alessandra will tie everything up and who will win.I just know that my thriller loving husband will enjoy this book too. Short and punchy chapters, secrets to find but with just the right amount of clues for the reader to self congratulate themselves for figuring it out.Really, really, really good read.

twisted
The Last Party by A.R. Torre is a dark and gripping thriller that kept me on the edge with its twisted characters and shocking secrets. Perla Wultz appears to have the perfect life, but beneath the surface lies a disturbing obsession with a notorious murderer, Leewood Folcrum. As the story unfolds through multiple perspectives, including Perla's manipulative mind and her daughter's insightful diary entries, the tension builds up.The book is unsettling at times, with its exploration of lies, manipulation, and evil, but it’s impossible to put down. While the twists may not be entirely unpredictable, the journey is still captivating, especially for fans of psychological thrillers. Torre's writing keeps the pace moving, and the flawed, unhinged characters add to the intrigue. Though the ending wraps up neatly, the novel remains a compelling read. The Last Party is perfect for those who enjoy dark, character-driven thrillers.

100% recommend!
Wow! Just wow! This is such a clever and brilliantly addictive and intriguingly juicy book.Without going too much into this as I think it's best to go in as blind as possible but it's about a murder party 23 years earlier and the people obsessed with it. It is written with 4 different POVs (Leewood - the man convicted of the murder party 23 yrs ago, Perla - who is obsessed with the murder party, Grant - Perla's husband and Sophie - Perla and Grant's daughter) we also get snippets of interviews with many different people after the events of whatever goes down in the book, giving us breadcrumbs along the way.Let me tell you the chapters are short, which just leaves you wanting more "just one more chapter" will definitely be said. It will have you trying to connect the dots as you act out the possible scenarios in your head and then when you figure it out at around 70% because you will it is designed that way, the book will evolve into a cat and mouse game that will have your heart racing and thinking how is this going to end!!!!!Amazing, amazing I loved it!100% recommend!

Such an addictive read!
What a warped and fascinating novel! Perla Wultz lives with her husband, Grant, and daughter, Sophie. They are well off, living in an affluent community, but that wasn't how Perla grew up. She continues to hide the dark secrets from her past.As the story goes on, we see Perla obsessed with a crime spanning over two decades ago, where Leewood Folcrum confessed to murdering two young girls during a birthday party. He has been condemned to life but is now opening up more to an interviewer about the crimes. As the past and present intersect, the author weaves a clever, twisted story that had me flying through the pages.Such an addictive read and another one I recommend.

Brilliant
This one was a crazy ride from start to finish. The little character statements at the beginning really makes you want to keep reading to find out what actually happens and what everyone is talking about. I did figure out what the connection was between the murder 23 years ago and the characters in the story, but it didn't take anything away from the reading experience. This was a fun and twisty thriller and I'm excited to read more from this author.

Excellent!
This book had me hooked right from the start. A.R Torre is becoming a must read author. A married woman becomes obsessed with a man in prison. He has been charged in the brutal deaths of young girls at a slumber party.Perla and Grant and their daughter Sophie seem to have it all. As you learn very quickly, that is the furthest from the truth. Perla is one of the most unhinged characters I have ever met. The author takes us on a roller coaster of a ride. This is not Disneyland. This book is dark, suspenseful, and down right fabulous. I loved the way the story was written and the way it all comes together. One of my top Thrillers of the year.Read it! You won’t be disappointed, buckle up, the ride is about to start!

Amazingly written
I'm amazed by the way the author built this incredibly dark and uncomfortable read. Being in Perla's head was crazy and had me in need of a breather more than once. At the same time, I couldn't read fast enough, trying to find out how it all connected, and more importantly, if Sophia would ever remain alive. This is a wild read, and if you have children, it will make you think really hard about what makes a good mother. The storyline is precise and played with my mund. I extrapolated facts, the author clearly sending me where she wanted my psyche at, that's a feeling that doesn't happen to me very often, and I absolutely loved it.This is a book that will haunt me, I'm sure!

Worth the read…
This book was both frustrating and enthralling. The characters were vivid and well described, and the several twists throughout made me really want to finish it.However, the last third of the book was slow moving for me, and some of the smaller pieces were left somewhat unresolved. Worth the read nonetheless.
