look great, wired tested, but not installed yet

So I hired an electrician to install these for me. He said they were pretty standard and compared to others he’s installed, fairly easy with no problems. I love how they look and lay flat on the ceiling. I did have the electrician show me the different lighting options and once I found the brightness/shade (not sure if that’s how it’s described) he set it and then made sure they were all on the same option. For the price point and amount of lights you get in one package, I highly recommend these!

These are good-looking, clean and bright LED can-less(can-killer) recessed lights. It's very well-made and very easy to install.If this is a fresh installation, cut a 6 1/4-inch hole using the enclosed template and run the wire into the hole, then connect the wires into the pre-installed push-in connector inside the junction box and snap the led light into the hole. That easy! By the way, you may want to use cable clamp connector in the junction box to bring electrical wires into it for protection. Since the entire assembly are very light and won't move around once installed, it may not be necessary.My installation is a retrofit case in the kitchen, and I had to go into the attic to cut wires to the existing fixtures, remove it and then enlarge the existing hole a bit. The most time-consuming part was enlarging the existing hole without damaging the kitchen ceiling. The rest of installation is very quick and simple.This LED light is ETL certified and IC-rated, therefore it will be safe in my attic. This LED light gives 5 choices of color temperature, and I chose 2700K for warmer tone. I suggest to select the color temperature on the junction box before you snap the LED light into the hole. If you have to remove the LED light from the hole for some reason, be careful not to get zapped by the retention spring. It feels like a finger get caught by a small mouse trap (less force, it hurts though). I have 10 recessed lights (all 6-inch) in my house; two done and 8 more to go, and two spares!This LED recessed light is a great choice for under $6.00 per light.

I got these for kitchen light replacement. A lightening strike blew out four of six recessed lights in the kitchen. I would not have even considered them without ETL certification. This is a National Electrical Code requirement. I would hate to have a fire and my insurance company determine that I had violated code with an install. These are decent lights.

Nice thin LED disk lights. Great for retrofit of old cans or new install. Very simple installation. Dimmable and you can set the color temp with a slide switch.

I have tested over a dozen sets of recessed “can killer” lights, half of which I’ve thrown out for safety reasons.These are above average. I tested them before installing. They draw 11.8 watts at the 4000k setting. The other settings were slightly less. The highest color rendering index (CRI) was 84, also on the 4000k setting. The color temperature is consistent between each light. The color and brightness is even across the entire surface of the lens.The junction boxes are lightweight sheet metal, although heavier gauge than most other brands. The lights are not completely sealed on the backside, which is common.A CRI of 84 makes these suitable for shop and living areas. They portray colors a little off and are not recommended in food prep or dining areas. A CRI under 95 makes reds look grayish, so food can look weird. Or worse, raw meat can look well done. Big box and lighting stores only carry 95+, but at a much higher price.Most importantly, these are ETL certified, which means they meet US safety standards for fire and electrical safety.I’m satisfied with these lights. I’m using them in a garage and shed.
