DVD of BBC series "The Return of the Psammead"
This DVD is of a BBC serial about the Psammead that appears in Edith Nesbit's "Five Children And It" - and how it is introduced to another family of Edwardian children in a brand new story. These children have come to live with an unpleasant Great Aunt who doesn't want them; and it looks like they are going to have an awful time - until they meet the Psammead! They learn that it can grant wishes - and soon they learn that wishing can cause big problems! They go forward in time and go shopping in a supermarket - but end up in a most embarrassing situation! They make friends with a young girl and her father who others are trying to get into trouble - but it is the troublemakers who end up losing out! These children have all sorts of experiences - but it is the Great Aunt who sees the most surprising change of all! This is a great story, well worth watching.

Classic BBCTV Children's Drama of the late nineties
The superb follow-up to E Nesbitt's "Five Children & It", shows off classic BBCTV Children's Drama of the late nineties at its very best! Cleverly crafted in the style of the original, the legendary Helen Cresswell does an amazing job, with wonderfully engaging storylines. The whole series is beautifully crafted under the sure-footed and intuitive direction of Marilyn Fox, who went on to direct the BBC's "The Chronicles of Narnia". A quirky and loveable score by Michael Omer along with the extraordinary characterisation of the Psammead by Francis Wright, culminates at the end of each episode, when the creature sings us through the closing titles. Superb!

Great Film
I collect films on DVD, Blu-Ray & Blu-Ray 3D (I think 3D films are FANTASTIC to watch), so this is another addition to the collection.

It was even better than I expected
It was even better than I expected. The return of the Psammed was almost as good as the original Five children and It. I love the Psammed. He is just like my cat.
