If you take the back off above the battery compartment you will see 2 little dials. The one on the right controls reverb and the left one controls the echo. Turn both of these counter clockwise all the way. You can then start to tune the mic by making very small adjustments and get it dialed in. I see alot of reviews where folks were having squealing issues. I had the same problem with mine until I figured out how to tune it. Hope this will be helpful .

It squealed every time I keyed up the microphone. Total waste of money.

Works great, not my D104 but it didn't cost 120 bucks either. I had one of these before and I always got excellent reports. My old one broke after having it for years, so I'm hopeful I'll have this one many years as well. Worth the money to me.

Sounds good but will squeal when turned up

I've owned many of these over the last 25+ years of being a trucker. This is the first of the new surface mount pcb boards I've gotten. The surface mount construction is actually an improvement over the through hole design. The part that makes this UNUSABLE is the "garbage" cord. the plug is of the same quality as the old one but the cord uses somewhere around 30ga or smaller wire and the modulation wire IS NOT SHIELDED!!!! If you use this mike without changing the cord it will squeal like a pig on any radio that puts out more than 1 watt.
