Wondering if this will work on very curly hair? My daughter is of mixed race and has very thick curly hair. Most brushes result in a huge afro.

NEVER brush curly hair dry. Always brush curly hair while wet and use some sort of leave-in conditioner or moisturizer that will give it some slip and won’t be as rough when your brush passes through. I’m also mixed race and I only wash my hair once weekly and brush it out twice weekly. I use a spray bottle with water and conditioner mixed inside. fully saturate the hair and then brush starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots. curly hair likes to do it’s own thing so the less you mess with it, the better it behaves.

How does this brush compare to The Wet Brush?

I have to disagree with others who say the Wet Brush is better, at least for my hair. I have very fine, long hair but a lot of it. While the wet brush will get the tangles out, it takes upwards of two hours or more and comes with much hair pulled out. While it does pull less than this brush, I was able to get all my significant tangles out in less than an hour and with minimal hair removed.

A very nice little brush.

It feels cheap, but I really like how it feels on my scalp, invigorating! It removes tangles without breaking my mid length hair, even when wet. It will glide over the tangle, slowly working it out. No sharp metal teeth to become exposed when the tabs wear off. It's easy to hold too.

Great detangler but awkward to hold

Love this brush because it doesn’t pull my hair out like my wet brush! Works soo well, even on my daughters’ hair. My eldest doesn’t yell ouch anymore when I use this brush. The only thing I don’t like about it, is it’s awkward to hold. You have to hold the little handle with your fingers. I tried my hand around the bigger part of the brush, but it felt weird.

Best brush!

I have very fine hair but I have a lot of it. Also the older I get the more wavy it gets. So my hair basically a tangled mess 24/7. I’ve tried so many brushes and this is the best brush I have ever used in my 36 years of life. It detangles my hair and leaves it so soft! I always end up giving my pets the brushes that do not work on this mop! Not this brush, this one is mine forever. If I go on Survivor this is the one item I would bring.
