Beautiful box!
I haven't used the sealing wax yet, so I don't know how well they work. The blood red color is gorgeous. The wax comes in the most beautiful black box with gold lettering and stag. I chose to keep a couple sealing wax sticks of each color that I would need on the go inside the beautiful box.

Please note before buying, these sticks have no wicks.
As a child of the 60s I used to use wax sealers all the time. This is the first set of wax sticks I’ve bought in a very long time and I just took it for granted there would be a wick in them but was surprised to find otherwise. (Wax sticks are much easier to use than melting little wax pellets in a spoon and dripping.) Now that I know not to take it for granted that today’s wax sticks all have wicks in them I have shopped again for other sticks that DO have wicks. The disadvantage to not having a wick is that you have to keep your lighter going under the wax the entire while, making the lighter very hot to the touch not to mention using up its fuel. In addition, I found the melted wax, once pressed with the seal, was a thinner consistency than I was used to in the old days.

The color is gorgeous
It was a little tricky to get the wax to melt right and fast enough to pool enough to stamp but once I figured it out this product was great

Worked well as wood filler
I like to use reclaimed wood for our projects. My husband made beautiful radiator covers but I needed something to fill the old nail holes. This worked perfectly and I just used a razor blade to level it with the wood. Very happy with the outcome.

Beautiful
These are the exact blood-red I wanted, with a slight sheen. I will be reordering.

Burns slow and the wax dries up before there is enough to use for a seal
The stick is too thick and the wax ends up drying before there is enough to use a seal. Also has a bad burning smell when using. It is easier to get the hot glue gun kind.

Wax is a bit translucent, not what I expected. Burns well, is ok.
Ok - I knew I was not getting the traditional lacquer wax - which I still like better and have yet to source. But I had an old stick to compare, and you forget how nice they look. When I was 10, I could buy it easily in a paper shop - now, it's impossible to find - go figure. This review is coming from someone that knows what real sealing wax looks like, as I have an old family sealing ring (for your finger). So these "supple waxes" are better if sending in the mail or if you are worried about breakage, as they are the "flex type" - the advantage. I did realize this and liked the darker (navy) blue colour and thought I would try. It burns well, but the colour is NOT intense enough IMO. If you peel it off the paper, you can see through it (where it is stamped). It works, it's ok... but I really expected a more opaque material (with a touch of gloss or something to make it feel like it is a little closer to sealing wax). There are some interesting colours (mottled) and metallics out there, which may make all the difference with the final print. I only have this single colour blue (no mottling within it), thus my experience. I give 3-star for the translucency issue, bec I did not expect that at all. When it drips, it almost looks like candle wax, It just stays liquid a bit longer - which you do need to have time to seal it.I have to research these new waxes and understand the differences - so forgive me if you know all this. There are the traditional expensive brands that I will have to try, as well as find a good price (arrgh in this country). But, if this is the way new waxes work, I can almost make my own with beeswax and colour, hot glue/colourize or melt some UTEE. And I may just try that, because there are ways around it, if I can't get the quality (and price point) I want. I am finding all these waxes actually very expensive for what you get and have even sourced them on Ali Ex as well, also higher than expected, plus hard to distinguish the quality you are getting - still it is an option. For now, I am in hit and miss mode and will likely try a few more brands out there. If I find something else on Amazon or change my mind, I will update this post.

Not wine red a shimmery orange-ish red, but very good quality.
It was not wine red at all, it‘s shimmery orange-ish red, but the wax is very good quality. The dark red and navy blue are great.
