This is one of my families favorite vegetarian foods. I grew up on Loma Linda so of course I love most of their products, but this is hands-down the definite favor of my youngest child. It’s a little bit of work cutting them and fixing them the way she likes it but it’s definitely worth it. She loves the taste, she loves the texture, (which again I think has to do more with how I make it). I love that you can put it in soups and salads although those are not her favorite ways to eat these, still versatility counts for something when you’re cooking with expensive vegetarian food. The price has gone up over the years which is the only thing I don’t like…but I sure wish this was available because it’s hard to find and the Loma Linda on Amazon has been out of of these for a few months. Restock guys we need more : ).

These are really delicious and I think it's a pretty good deal. The only thing I was surprised that is the new shape, which is not uniform, and is more difficult to incorporate into recipes

I am thrilled to have found these on Amazon as they are not available to purchase anywhere near my home. I lived in Loma Linda for many years and these were my family's favorite vegetarian mean product. My dad and later my son-in-law were the masters at cooking them. While expensive to have them shipped, it's worth it when I'm craving a taste of home.

I use the Skallops as chicken in dishes and they absorb flavors very well. In the photos I made them as a teriyaki dish. In extra virgin olive oil, I sautéed fresh garlic, onions, red peppers, green peppers, shredded carrots, cabbage and cashews. Then added the Skallops which I had ripped up into smaller pieces. I find the texture to be better that way. I drizzled some Yoshida’s teriyaki sauce/marinade over the stir fry. Then added just a little bit of sesame oil for taste. I like adding a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for some heat. I also like having the (bagged) sweet kale mix salad with poppy seed dressing on the side….. just in case anybody would like to prepare this the way I did. It’s really really good! (Just be sure not to overdo it with the teriyaki because I did that the first time and it was too sweet and saucy.) I definitely recommend the Skallops. It’s fun experimenting different dishes with them! There’s enough in the can for a few meals so it’s worth the money.
