Latin-English Booklet Missal For Praying The Traditional Mass Paperback – January 1, 1998

Excellent--Easy to read and follow along for those who are interested in attending and learning the Latin Mass. I attend a parish that has these in the pews to follow along with and that is where I first saw this book. I got to use it before ordering it to share with others that I have invited to attend.

This little guide provides the words to Holy Mass in English on one page and the words in Latin on the page next to it. No flipping all over and trying to keep up. It couldn’t be more helpful to those attending The Extraordinary Mass that do not know Latin.

I was raised Catholic, but when I attended a Latin mass I knew I would need more information. This little red book helped me through my first month or two of attending Latin mass.I really love the TLM, Traditional Latin Mass, as a way to get close to God. I still use what is lovingly called, "The Little Red Book." Eventually, I will probably purchase a missal, but not yet.

For extraordinary mass not Roman rite

I first bought this booklet to remind me of the Latin Mass I attended as a small child . Some of the faithful and reverent priests in our Novus Ordo Parish incorporated some Latin ( such as Agnus Dei , and Domine , non sum dignus ...) , so I started taking it along to the Novus Ordo Mass .My wife & I eventually found a parish that exclusively uses the Tridentine/ Extraordinary Form / TLM (choose your favored description ) , and this booklet is very good for following that Mass . It is complete in the common , or unchanging , portion of the Mass , but be mindful that the TLM has much more content that is " proper" (unique to each Sunday or Feast Day ) , and this little booklet isn't much help with that - you need a complete missal . To give you an idea of its usefulness , though , the parish keeps multiple copies of this exact booklet on hand for those who don't have a missal ; this booklet is also much more affordable .

This booklet has proved itself beyond valuable. I highly recommend using it for the Latin Mass as it makes you feel less lost. Also I suggest watching the Latin Mass on YouTube a couple of times so you can pause and compare in the booklet.

The left hand pages are the Latin, plus illustrations of the priest's actions, with the English translation on the right hand pages. There are also a guide to a worthy confession, an introduction to the Mass, prayers after Mass and much more, all in a convenient booklet. Well worth buying if you want to know about what was The Roman Rite for 1500 years and is our Catholic heritage. The Latin Mass is as important today as it ever was, which is why Francis [and other Vatican II 'popes'] wants to stamp it out.
