good set
This spam musubi mold set comes with almost everything you need to make uniform musubi shapes. The slicer works well. It is not quite as big as what's been advertised (which is a good thing for people with limited storage space like myself). It measures approximately 8 5/8 inches long and 4 7/8 inches wide. The molds are very sturdy, and you get 2. For my spam musibis, I like to use sushi rice cooked in an automatic rice cooker. Take a can of low sodium spam, remove it from the can, lift up the metal portion of the slicer, align the spam so the slicer cuts it horizontally and then press down to slice. Next, I get a small bowl and put 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of mirin or rice vinegar, a pinch of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of water (mix well). Get out a large skillet, spray with a little oil, and pan fry the spam slices on each side for about a minute and a half over medium to high heat. Then turn down the heat to medium low, and pour the mixture from the bowl over the spam slices. Flip the slices over so that both sides can be evenly coated with the mixture. Cook it for no more than 45 seconds in total (the mixture will reduce slightly). Remove the slices from the heat to start your assembly process. Take 3 sheets of nori and cut them into thirds crosswise. Place one of the molds on top of one strip of nori. Add the amount of rice according to your preference. I do not like a lot of rice in my musubis, so I only add enough to just go up 1/3 of the mold. Note when you press down the rice, it gets compact, so you'll need to add more rice as needed. Now, this is when you can get creative. You can skip this step if you want the more traditional musubi, but I like to add a slice of English cucumber (sliced lengthwise to fit the mold) on top of the rice. You could add whatever you like. I've even added a thin layer of kimchi or smashed Taki crumbs before. Once you've added or not added the additional layer, place one slice of spam in the mold. Use the mold cover to press down and slide the mold upwards to release. Now tightly wrap with the nori (adjust it if you need to) so that the end pieces are on the bottom. Repeat the process until you've used all your slices. They are ready to eat warm. You can save any extra misubis by wrapping them in saran wrap to keep their shape and freshness. Enjoy!

Works exactly as needed
Tested it out to make something for my wife and it came out easier than I expected! Definitely great to surprise her with when I make her lunches now because I know she enjoys them. The instructions were unclear since they were in another language initially but I could figure out what it was saying with the pictures. I would recommend getting to use!

the handiest tools i've ever used for musubi!
wow! before this, I made musubi using the spam can and a bunch of prayers. with this, it's not only safer to make the musubi, but a ton more convenient. the two presses included in the kit fit regular sized spam, and make it easy to pack rice and spam together in a compact and travel-safe package!design-wise, I'd say that the spam-slicer is the only thing that could use a little work. The metal tines aren't the sharpest, and can sometimes lead to weird tearing in the spam. BUT I also want to recognize that making them thinner (and sharper) would make them much more dangerous too, so they do well for their purpose. It's easiest to clean the slicer with a spray nozzle sink-extension or with a brush!

Takes practice
This is really good for making rice balls. I'm a newbie to this so it has taken some patience. The molds really help though. They shape the rice and take some of the work out of making rice balls. It najes the process just that much essier. It's easy to clean too. I put it on the top rack in the dishwasher, no problems. Glad to have this.

Works great!
This little kit works exactly as designed! The cutter cuts just as expected. The musubi molds with presses fit well and they're easy to press your rice. It's pretty straightforward and easy to use. Anyone can use these. I would recommend them. 5/5 stars for me.

Got this mostly for the spam slicer
Slicer works great. Came with 2 molds for quicker assembly. This is a nice gadget instead of using spam can and regular knife. We wouldn’t use with hot rice since it is plastic even with bpa free claim. These are easy to clean and fairly compact for storage.
