Focal Bathys Hi-Fi Bluetooth Wireless Headphones with Active Noise Cancelation (Dune)

The Focal Bathys are for people who wanna experience music at its fullest. They have a great soundstage with very good sound/instrument separation. The bass is perfect and not overly boosted or dark while the treble is more than adequate without it sounding like its ear splitting and the midrange is excellent. I listen to rap, r&b, edm and a bit of pop. These headphones shine in the above genres (dunno about other genres coz i dont listen to them). The Bathys are very sonically accomplished headphones which sound great right out of the box. For audiophiles who are looking for more there is a 5 band EQ that you can use to customize the frequencies further and make them sound even better. The changes in EQ get stored automatically in your bathys and remain even if you switch the bathys connection from your phone to your tv or something else. One thing i suggest everyone to do is to complete the hearing test in the focal app as that further tunes the bathys depending on your hearing to give you an even better experience. The ANC on these headphones is average at best and if ANC is your number 1 priority then look for something else. The headphones have good build and material quality. They have good clamping force without them being uncomfortable. I was able to watch a 2 hour movie without any discomfort however please note that these are heavy headphones so you will feel the bulk while wearing them. Im getting the claimed 30 hour battery life without any issue and its taking about 1 hour 15 mins to charge them to 100% level from 10% level. They also have a led indicator that flashes while charging and stops flashing after they are fully charged. If you prioritize sound quality and can afford these headphones then these are the headphones for you.

For the past 6 years I wanted a proper audiophile level headphone setup, but its only now that I could manage to spend that much. I had an option to invest in an Amp + Dac + wired headphone setup but I also wanted BT headphones that I could carry around, and majorly for office calls purposes, as my last pair stopped wprking properly. I saw around 150 YT videos and narrowed down on B&W PX8 S2, but they were too expensive for me. Bathys were constantly being mentioned in every YT video for my use case and that's when I started digging for it more. I finally bought these headphones and man I can't stress enough. I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED AUDIO LIKE THIS. If you are a seasoned audiophile, this review is not for you but for the people who want to get into high grade audio but HAVE to also choose BT headphones, I don't think it can get better than this. For the songs that I've listened to a 100 times, it felt like the song had been opened in front of me with each distinct sound individually calling me. I could hear things that I didn't know existed in those songs. I can't emphasise enough on how much these headphones have changed my audio perception, especially when using DAC mode with proper high res versions of songs. Some things i wish could have been better is the support for APTX Lossless, it only has adaptive. Plus the weight is considerable so you might start feeling that after an hour of listening. Also, the noise cancellation is not the best probably but it is plenty for me. I absolutely don't want myself to cut out of the surroundings. You 100% won't be able to listen to a person sitting next to you while playing music. If you are pondering whether to buy this headphone or not, go for it. It will change you!

Sound is without an exception, mind-blowing. I am yet to put it to the grinds, however, initial testing against 8d lossless audio is quite impressive across the range. The sound stage is as expansive as proclaimed, you feel you're sitting in a large room. ANC is not that good though, so keep that in mind if you plan to use them in noisy surroundings, the music leaks out of the headphones and is audible from outside. Please keep your own use-case in mind. I put a head massage track and gave it to my mum. She assumed the headphones had in-built massager and wasn't ready to accept otherwise. Hope this helps!

The Focal Bathys have an amazing sound stage and it appears that you are in a big room with instruments present all around. The build quality is amazing. ANC is not as good as the market leaders (Sony XM5s and APM). Connect the USB cable to enjoy music with DAC (I use apple music with high-res lossless). A very good purchase considering you don't need to pay extra for an external DAC. Only issue here is that with Amazon you only get 1 year warranty, whereas, other sellers are giving 2 years of warranty.

fantastic sound quality, clamping force has not decreased after all the usage (and ‘stretching it for 24/7). It wobbles when you move your head. Sennheiser Momentum 4s sound equally good(sound signature is different - I would keep them both) and has no clamping. Expensive- the latest Bathys cost even more

I tried most of the premium over the ear headphones including Apple max, B&W, B&O, ML repeatedly against the focal bathys (FB). FB gave the truest sound of them all. A near perfect balance of highs, mids and lows, which goes even better to another level when in DAC wired mode.

Edit - terrible support in India Been more than a month of raising an issue of chipped paint and poor quality cushions. No response apart from “we’ve raised it to the company” Stay away from Focal. Premium pricing, atrocious support

These are rated BEST for bluetooth sound and with good reason. I've had others from Sennheiser, B&W, Bose and the sound quality from Focal, is noticeable levels better. The mids are rich, bass is strong. The best part is the app comes with an audio compensation feature, to tune to your hearing. You can also use the EQ. The other unknown feature is that in wired mode, it has a built in DAC. This improves the sound another level better than bluetooth. If you value sound quality over ANC or all the other bells and whistles of the other wireless headset brands, then these are for you.

Sonido y acabados increíbles. El sonido claramente se destaca sobre otros audífonos con características similares (inalámbricos y Bluetooth). La gran diferencia es el DAC, lo cambia todo. La app de Foca es sencilla de utilizar y da la oportunidad de ecualizar los audífonos. También es súper útil el nivel de cancelación de ruido de los audífonos, para que se adapte donde te encuentres. Los compré en oferta y han valido la pena.

They deliver on their high price. Very nice indeed.
