It went back into the shoe without a problem but I don't know how well they're going to stand up to being worn bare foot, which is probably how I'll wear them in hospital. If you want a pair of cheap, light mules these undoubtedly fit the bill. I'm not too sure about their longevity but they are comfortable and they fit well over my swollen foot. I'll update this review in a few weeks after they've had a real test.
