I have bought many jump ropes. Most jump ropes have flaws that make it difficult to jump. A bad jump rope is like buying a bicycle with square wheels. People don’t know jump ropes, so spotting a bad rope isn’t intuitive.This is a great rope. This one has great handles, and the weight of the wire is perfect—not too heavy and not too light. You can go fast. And you can have control.I already bought two of these ropes. I may buy a third. And a fourth eventually.Really, this is a 5 star product. If you don’t buy it, that’s okay, because the last good jump rope I bought on Amazon sold out and was discontinued. I will be happy to slowly buy these jump ropes over the course of my life as each one wears out. (A jump rope wears out after about 100 hours of skipping rope; 25 hours if you skip rope outside on the concrete).

Up front transparency: I asked for this product to review but absolutely NO pressure was put on me to give a good one. Instead I was encouraged to tell you what I honestly thought to help you make an informed choice and this is what I have done.I have been using this jump rope for a couple of weeks now and have been very pleased with it. I was surprised when I got it at the quality of the presentation and of the handles. I would not hesitate to give it as a gift to someone who would appreciate a wire cable jump rope.It is a good thing that the handles come pre-assembled and ready to go because the one weakness I saw was with the "user manual" which hinted that you had to self-assemble them and then showed pictures that did not match the handles. You also have to feed and twist about 1/2 in at a time to get the hollow tubes that supply the center weights onto the cables. Those came crimped in the package and I am sure that happened naturally AFTER they were put in there. Not a big thing, just a little patience and you are good. Fortunately you do not need to remove those tubes to put the cables back into the case.I do like the feel of the handles in my hands. They are easy to grip and the cable turns very smoothly on the internal bearings. Being all metal you could probably also use them for self-defense if accosted in the park while jumping and not worry about them falling apart. The cables are inserted and removed VERY easily and are firmly gripped. I am not worried about them falling out while in use.The kit comes with a zippered hard case which makes it ideal for chunking in a backpack or suitcase. It also comes with two cables and weights. The handles have about 4" of play each for very easily adjusting the length of the cable within an 8-in range. If you need the cable shorter you will need to find some bolt cutters as the cable is a polymer sheathed aircraft cable and normal scissors won't help. With the two cables it comes with you can have them at different lengths should you wish. In my kit one was the color I ordered and the second cable was black making it easy to tell them apart.I did find it worthwhile to also order a nice mat to protect my floors when using it inside. I could easily see aircraft cable doing damage if repeatedly used in the same spot. That is, of course, not a concern outdoors and indoors is probably true for ALL varieties of jumping ropes/cables. If for no other reason than that any cable will scrape any ambient dust or grit in passing. This has NOTHING to do with this set, but it is a consideration for anyone new to jumping or if you are giving this as a gift to someone who is unlikely to already have a mat and you wish to keep in their good graces.This jump rope is intended for physical fitness, durability, and speed jumping. Not for acrobatics. Those need a different type of rope entirely. But if this IS what you are looking for this is a good set.

Long overdue review from me here! I thought I was at a point in my shoulder rehab that I could at least jump rope, but it didn't take long to realize that jumping jarred my shoulder too much, and there was just no way. Fast forward, and my shoulder is FINALLY healing, so I thought I'd pick up this jump rope.First things first, I'm 6'2" and wanted a jump rope that I could just use for standard jump roping, double unders, and maybe some crossovers, so I knew buying this rope would be slightly long.To adjust the jump rope, you really need to figure out how you want to use the rope, as one person may want it longer and another shorter; it depends on your technique, hand positioning, elbow positioning, etc... but you don't want the rope cracking the floor with a long section... you want to minimize how much rope is hitting the floor. So, if you have too much rope hitting the floor, then you need to adjust the length.Inserting the rope into the handles is super easy with the push buttons on the handles and the rope itself spins super freely within them. It's very comfortable to hold, and honestly, the red and black coloring looks sick and matches my home gym look that I'm building.I had to use tin snips to cut the rope, and even then, it wasn't easy to get through; this rope is super durable, which is the plus side, but it's not easy to cut. I tried a utility knife, and perhaps had I gotten out a new blade, it could have gotten through it, but my semi-sharp blade didn't cut any of the wires inside the rope.If you're looking for a great jump rope and don't mind a bit of a pain to shorten the rope, then I highly recommend this one!

I have been using this jump rope every day for the last 4 months. Likes: 1. Easy to adjust 2. Helps me get some exercise since I can't run anymore due to my bad knees. 3. Aluminum handle moves in a 360 degree movement so no strain or chance to injury your wrists. 4. Thin handle design fits comfortably in my hands. 5. Comes with extra rope. Dislikes: Nothing.
