I am a fan of the original formula of this product because it smelled minty fresh and actually turned my hair a darker color but this new formula stinks really bad like burning incense but too strong it makes my sinuses hurt. It also does not turn my hair darker like the original formula did. Very disappointed. Cancelling my subscription.

Compared to the previous formula, this one doesn’t seem to work well. It might discolor your fingernails but it takes too much shampoo and time to try to darken your hair. Too bad they changed the formula. I won’t be purchasing anymore.

I had been using the old formula for about three years and was satisfied with the results. I’ve only been using this updated version a few weeks. I like the more compact bottle and the new smell. The best way I can describe it is almost like oak, but it’s not strong. It is nicer than the old antiseptic scent. Also, I noticed that my hair is soft after washing it with this new version of the shampoo. Definitely an improvement over the old version and so far It seems to be as effective. Time will tell. For new users, I don’t know how long it will take to get results (it took about 8 weeks with the old version) and if the transition from that funny pink to dark brown will still happen. I do know I haven’t had to go to the salon to color my gray hair in three years as I grow it out. My hair is long and I didn’t want to cut it or deal with a demarcation line. This product has been a savior for me. I do use a purple shampoo and conditioner once in a while to deal with the brassy tones my hair gets. And, one last note, it really doesn’t get the hair black like the pictures show, or it hasn’t for me. It’s more of an auburn color. It looks like the highlights I used to pay so much for.

I've been using this product for 2 years to avoid irritation/blister on the scalp due to ammonia-based dying agent. For 2 years, I did some experiment to find the most convenient/efficient way to keep my hair dark brown. Here's what I do.(1) Wet your hair(not dribbling wet)(2) Scrub the shampoo to the hair, just to keep the shampoo sticky stay in the hair. (First)(3) Toothbrush(4) Take soap shower all over except for the scrubbed hair. Add a little water to keep hair wet(Second)(5) Clean all soapy body excpt for the hair. Add a little water to keep hair wet(Third)(5) Rinse your hair with warm or cold water. Not too hot.It takes 15 minutes+. I found 3 times wet for 3 minutes each is the optimum. Hope it helps : )

I started using this shampoo after the original shampoo was replaced with this one, and the results are not as good , if any. The previous shampoo was excellent, but was replaced with this junk. I never had any allergic reaction to the previous product, but this new formula gave me a lot of allergic reaction and blisters all over my head and body. Why was the formula changed? DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I don't recommend this product.

This works great and got rid of all my white hair. You don't need to use it daily maybe once every 2 days. Best of all this has no chemicals to affect my allergy with regular hair dyes (give my scalp a rash). Highly recommend.
