Quick Reviews!
When I was a kid, getting a large Lego set was a once, maybe twice a year event. Christmas and Birthday. It's understandable given the moneys involved and the space they take up once built. And once built, you don't want to take it down, so where does it go? Half of my childhood attic was filled with Lego builds - Castles, pirate stuff, and space stuff sitting amidst the Castle Greyskulls and Ewok Villages.I'm attempting the same thing now with my kids, and this castle looks great once complete. It's not Lego and it's not an official LOTR tie-in, but it does the job. The bricks are good quality - the instructions aren't perfect, but then I always moan about instructions - and it looks suitably ominous. You can just imagine your tired band of adventures, having come through a series of deadly trials and encounters, finally bridging the top of a mountain only to find this grim black obelisk staring back at them, mocking with sinister glee. The only real downsides are that so much of it is black that it can make the build both dull and confusing - many bits are the same - and once built it doesn't have many features. There's no inside to walk through, with rooms, fireplaces, traps etc. The eye at the top is cool, as is the book setting, making it look as if the tower has sprung forth from some begotten arcane tome, but it would have been nice if there had been some additional functionality to make it more like a toy than a model.

Wonderful set
My grandson put this together this weekend and he LOVED doing it . Its quite a complicated one but he managed it no problem and he is 12 . Does not say on the box what 'age ' it is for but honestly I think even adults would enjoy doing this one Took him about 3 hours or so . Its really, really lovely when it it's finished and it had a little light on the top that actually works. Really good value for money and so pleased with it

Not just for the kids.
Everyone loves Lego, and there are many copycat manufacturers out there and to be honest there's nothing wrong with that, as long as their building sets are good quality and fun. This is a Lord of the Rings inspired building set, looking a double of The Dark Tower. I haven't built it yet, my son is coming home in a few weeks (he's 28 and has left home) and it's something we used to do together when he was younger, so I was wanting to build it with him.The contents look a little cheap, but if it builds as nice as the box photo and as nice as other photo's by Amazon reviewers, then I'm sure we'll have fun with it. It's a good price for the size box and model specifications.

Buildable, but missing pieces and dodgy blocks
The instructions were not too bad on this set of a LOTR knock off tower, although the brown and black pieces are a nightmare to read in the instructions as you cannot see them clearly (this is an issue ive had with Lego too.) But it was buildable, well that is once we had subbed in a couple of our own building blocks for missing pieces (two.)There was also a miss moulded piece which we needed to replace and the quality of the blocks was not the best of the best with the injection marks clearly visible on most of the blocks. It did light up once built and is a good size model (Lego figure in pic for scale) but its at the lower end of quality of the generic sets we have built and more Meh than Magnificent...

Amazing build for fantasy fans
For anyone who is a fan, you'll spot exactly what this is inspired by.I really enjoyed the build and it looks great. There's a light up brick which illuminates the Eye of something or other. There's even a miniature tower and nameplate. The only downside is the instructions. It's not that they weren't clear, it's that the brown bricks are printed in black and very hard to understand which is which. After that though, plain sailing.I'm a huge fan and this looks phenomenal next to my gandalf and balrog

Nostalgic construction experience
Diving into the world of construction was reimagined through this set. It wasn't just about assembling; it was about recreating a scene steeped in nostalgia. The tactile feedback from the materials was pleasing, each piece locking in with a satisfying click. The inclusion of lighting added a dynamic flair, bringing the construct to life in the darker hours. Gifted it to a friend, whose appreciation for craftsmanship mirrored my own.

Fun to build!
This would be much much more expensive if it was real Lego. You’re getting decent instructions with this and pretty decent blocks plus, for me, there were only a couple of tiny ones (that I had in my spare lego block box anyway) that were missing. Yes, the quality is not as good as Lego in terms of clicking it in but at the same time it’s really very almost as good and you’re paying a lot less for it. I think the design is pretty good. Sometimes I find nonbranded Lego a little clunky in the design but this is quite cool. It’s challenging and great for adults as well as kids. I recommend!
