Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag [Sanders, Rob, Salerno, Steven] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag Review: Amazing book, very cute - This is a great book that has hidden history that I had no idea until I actually read it, regarding the lgbtq+ community. It's very cute and it's to the point, not too much detail but you still understand what's going on. I really like the book and I would recommend it. Review: A beautiful book with a great message <3 - I used this book as part of a lesson on activism and equality. The illustrations are wonderful! The story itself is grounded in reality and doesn't stray from Milk's message or intent. They don't try to hide the fact that he was assassinated either. We need more children's picture books to help explain the fight for equality and how important it is to show love and empathy towards others despite our differences.

Buy This Book - Just Do It
This book is beautifully illustrated, perfect for children. It is well-written and great for older children as well as younger. It is the best book I've found of its kind! Along with the book about Tango, it is my favorite same love book to date. I especially loved the part that includes the day the white house was lit up rainbow when marriage equality was federally recognized. I cannot recommend this book fervently enough! What a touching tribute to a trailblazer

Important Book for an Important Story
We bought this book for our son so he could learn about how one part of Pride started as well as the important story of Harvey Milk. The book is beautifully illustrated and written and very age-appropriate.

A beautiful story to teach our children about pride, love and equality!
Rob Sanders and Steven Salerno have written and illustrated a beautifully crafted story. Since this book is written for young people, it succinctly gets to the heart of Harvey Milk's message and the significance of the rainbow flag. I am proud that this book exists and that children can bear witness to the message of hope and equality that Harvey preached and the flag embodies.

Pride Comes Alive
After reading this to my children, they decided to celebrate HARVEY MILK DAY on his birthday and made rainbow flag pins for their classmates. Rob Sanders tells a powerful and inspirational story as we learn from the life of Harvey Milk and his fight for equality. Beautifully illustrated. Every classroom should have a copy. I purchased one for my children's school and our local library. Get your copy and make a difference in the world. Let's treat everyone with kindness.

I bought this book to read with my 7 year old daughter. She enjoyed reading it with me, then discussing it afterwards. We went to a Pride parade a few weeks later and she asked if she could make her own flag to fly at the parade as she understood why it was important to see it!
