Just what I wanted
Bought this phone for my wife in Ecuador. It's Latin American compatible and works great there. It's an upgrade phone from the model sold for the U S market. Great price for a quality phone

Best phone I ever owned!
Phone is brand new in factory sealed box. Sleek and polished aluminum/glass frame feels indestructible with an IP67 rating guaranteed water resistant and dustproof. I used my old Sim card and signed into the T-mobile network here in California first time no problem. The phone works perfectly on the T-mobile network. Phone scrolls and operates effortlessly. It clearly has a great processor with plenty of ram. I only have 2 complaints. #1) When I first set up the phone my normal display settings were too bright and bothered my eyes. I had to use the Eye Comfort Shield to tolerate the display. I later figured out how to set the phone on display settings I am satisfied with. I have noticed slight display issues once or twice since. #2) The phone has occasional glitches with the finger print sensor. It takes patience to figure out how to handle the finger print sensor not responding. The problem is intermittent and the sensor works as it should 95% of the time. The facial recognition feature, on the other hand, is fantastic! It unlocks the screen 80% of the time. In set-up, the facial recognition feature takes 2 pictures of your face - so it's nice to be right up on the screen on one of them. I sometimes use impressions of the same finger two different times to perfectly capture one fingerprint. You have to learn how to keep going into finger print set-up to test and keep your fingerprints set up. One hassle is that whenever you renew your fingerprint you have to login manually into each app again and again to keep them current. For the most part, the facial recognition and the finger print sensor fly right through. The speakers are sterio and the sound is excellent. The camera is fantastic. It clearly focuses on objects one inch away. The camera instantly recognizes and captures the 1/4 inch teeny-tiny QR code, (and bar codes), on the side of the box or on the inside of the box. It takes a very sensitive camera to capture such small QR codes so quickly. With the exception of the occasional fingerprint sensor glitch this is the best phone I've ever owned!

This Phone works with at&t!
So my phone is on at&t towers. I called and gave them the imei number. I was not it would not work and that I will need a new t-Mobile Sim card. So I paid 10 for a new card then I got the idea that instead of waiting for the Sim card I would put my current Sim card into phone! And it WORKED! So much canceled my Sim card order! I can make calls! I can receive calls! I can send and rec text. The WiFi works with both 4g and 5g! Mobile data works fine also! I did get a text from at&t telling me the phone is not working and to get a BETTER device.. But no it does indeed work! I suspect they didn't want to sell a mid range phone when people are silly enough to buy flagship even tho this phone is just s little under flagship models! I am so GLAD I didn't have to return this device! The ONE problem I had was someone was silly enough to put a sticker over the imei# so I was FORCED to open the box and the phone and risk it not working! This was the only lemon yellow phone I could get! Just cause the phone company says its not compatible does not mean it for sure WON'T WORK because it will! I was also able to delete the bloat ware most phones from carriers cram in their devices! This replaced my old A51! Great phone zero.complaints! If I develop a problem I will update this review +BEST OF ALL+ THIS HAS NO AI! That means less data of yours to be collected or sold/hacked! Privacy is a must nowadays!

Not ready for prime time in USA. Comparison to A70 phones
I have a Galaxy A71 and 72, and wanted an upgrade. Longer battery life, better performance... However this phone isn't it. The A71 and 72 are made on an 8nm process node, and have a 4860mAh battery, although android 14 recognizes it as a 50000mAh battery. The A55 has a 5000mAh battery, and supposedly is made on a 4nm process node. This should give significantly better battery life, but in reality it's not that much better. In some cases it has even less battery. The A70 series phones have 800nits, this one 1000. It's slightly brighter in outdoors, but hardly noticeable, and less yellow. The Samsung processor does still have some hiccups and freezes. They're nowhere near as smooth as the snapdragon variants. While benchmarks between A71, and A72 and the A55 indicate that the A55 has a significantly faster GPU (3x faster), and roughly +50 to +150% on combined benchmark scores. In real life however, is unless you are gaming, there's nearly no difference between the both of them. Initially I had an issue with this phone on MetroPCS, where it wouldn't connect to the network, and later telling me I should switch plans to a more expensive plan, but it turned out my 10+ year old sim needed replacement for a more modern one. I needed to go to MetroPCS which charged me $35 for the service and $10 for the new sim. Transferring phone number was not an issue. 5G locally on MetroPCS got me 200mbits speed, vs a peak of 115mbits (80-100Mbits avg on 4G LTE), and ~50mbits on 1-2 bars on 5G (vs 2-4mbits on 4G LTE). 5G definitely is faster, but consumes lots of battery. The A55 feels significantly hotter in use than the A72, despite the CPU cores being pretty close to one another (A72 2x 2.3Ghz and 6x 1.35Ghz efficiency cores to 4x 2.7Ghz and 4x 2Ghz efficiency cores on the A55). Despite the back panel and screen being hotter on the A55 than the A72, the battery is significantly cooler on the 55 (36C vs 40C on the 72). The best thing I can do for better battery life, is use a solid dark background tile, set the refresh rate to 60Hz instead of 120, disable notifications for apps that you don't need notifications for, and use the battery saver feature, to lower CPU speed, decrease background activity. Overall I think the A55 is roughly 20% better than the A72, thanks to larger ram, better GPU, and the 5G modem. What it lacks is power efficiency for the CPU, and the screen sometimes can stutter (be laggy). That's not something I saw on my A72 or A71 with snapdragon CPU. It reminds me of how Intel computers used to have a much more smooth interface compared to AMD CPUs that often had USB jitter bugs where USB or desktop would freeze for a moment. People online have mentioned how they hated Samsung CPUs for doing that, and Samsung was correct in not releasing the A55 in USA. Not until they can get rid of these weird freezes (freezes not related to CPU loading times). Let's hope they find the big, and can address it in their A56 phones next year. If not, they're not ready for prime time.

Tenia el m53 y me gustaba su estetica mas delgado. En este modelo no se por que bajo la calidad de la camara de 65m a 50m muy mal por eso. De ahi en fuera buen teléfono. Cumple con las funciones para lo que lo necesito.

I was not sure whether to buy te A55 or the latest Samsung galaxy. Although it doesn't have the same features like the galaxy line, it is worth the price ans experience. As I work taking lots of photos, the built-in AI is superb on editions. If you ever consider purchasing, I recommend to listen to the voice in your head and do it!

This is the second Latin American version I've bought, A54 (wife) and now a A55 (me) and found that they work great in Australia. Just a couple of adjustment to the settings and all is good.
