A superb, highly recommended read for better understanding not just who the Taliban are, but why they’re that way and what they’re doing. I was pleasantly surprised to find it both readable and a captivating story - making the intensity of the topic more digestible. Abbas is clearly very knowledgeable on the subject matter with information you may not find elsewhere, and captures the inside affairs of the group with great detail and a gripping narrative. Overall recommend highly for anyone interested in the region, or even those curious to learn more about the group!
