Perfect for anyone studying life drawing
I bought this half sized skeleton (christened 'Norman' which seemed to fit) to aid my understanding of human muscle arrangements with reference to surface anatomy for life drawing. Used in conjunction with a good anatomy text book and 3D iPad anatomy apps it is perfect for the job. Having studied 'proper' anatomy as a veterinary student many years ago, I feel that for anybody needing to study, and possibly mark the positions of muscle origins and insertions, the skeleton is both too small and also lacking in surface detail. Otherwise, it is of sturdy construction and well worth the money.

Good
Smaller than expected, but good product. Not a detailed anatomical structure but helpful for a simple visual of the skeleton

Perfect for student - excellent value for money.
I'm a student physiotherapist and this is exactly what I was looking for. It's doesn't take up a huge amount of space like a full size model and sits nicely at the side of a desk on the floor. If you're on a budget/don't have a lot of space and you're looking for a smaller anatomically correct skeleton model then this is perfect since the full size ones are at least twice the price and size - and this does the same job! We use the full size ones at university and they're pretty much the same but bigger. This is perfect to have at home and can even be transported if you really needed to, since it's compact and folds away easily. The metal pole and base are attached to the back of the packaging, initially I thought they were missing but once you take the skeleton out of the polystyrene, flip the polystyrene over and you'll find them taped to the back. You can learn from this just as easily as with a full size model since it's anatomically correct and the parts are all large enough to see properly. It's very easy to put together and took me less than 5 minutes from it arriving at the door - all you have to do is take it out of the box and put it on the stand and attach the lower limbs, no tools necessary. In terms of moving parts, you can move the model's mandible (it's on a spring - pull it down at let it click into place if it's dislodged), upper limbs (the radius and ulnar bones also move in pronation/supination), lower limbs and remove the skull cap. There's some slight movement of the head at the cervical spine (rotation). The hands and feet come as whole pieces without the individual bones but the bones have been molded so you can see them, you just can't move them. So unless you want something with hand/foot detail that can be moved at the hand/foot joints then this ought to be fine. The spine and scapula are static, but again, it doesn't hinder learning unless you really wanted to move them to visualize their movements. The detail in the molding is great to learn from (e.g. vertebral discs/spine of scapula) so the lack of movement is hardly a problem. For the price you pay for this, it's a very good learning tool and if you want something with larger or with more moveable parts then the price you pay is going to reflect that. This is perfect for students with not much space or money!

Would recommend
Always a bit of a risk with this kind of thing as you never know how detailed it will be but this is a great purchase. Good quality and perfect for learning general bony landmarks

Good value for money
Just the perfect size. Easy to assemble and can be stored in a corner without taking much space. Also, easy to visualise all the bones.

One major problem
Both the spine and skull are missing ? On the plus side the quality is very good would of been 5 stars if it was complete .

Product review
This is a great product very good detail for its size and price. However this product is not anatomically correct as the scapula dosn’t rotate, the patella does not move up and down the femoral groove and the skeleton dose not provide much movement at any of the joints and the fingers and toes do not move. However still a great product to use for revision but it’s worth a buy for its great condition and the bony landmarks

Perfect size
Perfect size to demonstration and learn bones.Easy to assemble. Would prefer moving scapula and spine but those versions are very expensive.
