This went on the back door to my workshop. The one I can't see from the house.The entire building is heavy gauge steel with the frame (top to bottom) made entirely from welded 4" X 6" steel beams. As usual, I had this 'overbuilt'.This 34" wide steel door is a pre-hung (wood frame) door and is mounted to two of the vertical steel beams running up on both sides of it with bolts. It was a difficult install but hopefully I won't have to do that again.Sturdy? Absolutely. Break in proof? I'm not so sure about that. That is why I got this Lock Bar.The description says this is only for doors that swing out. I disagree. This door opens to the inside and the security bar will be mounted inside as well.Great build quality on this Security Lock Bar. Fit, finish and construction are very well done.This comes with mounting hardware but I will be using my own due to the unusual mounting of the door on those steel beams where the bar will also be mounted to. There are also 2 keys. Make sure to keep track of them.I drilled two extra holes in the end pieces so each one is attached to the steel beams with 4 bolts instead of just two. Stronger mounting? I sure think so. I'ts unlikely that anybody will be breaking through this. I will be getting a second one of these and mount it about a foot from the concrete floor to prevent the bottom from being kicked in. Overkill? Maybe, but what price would you put on security and peace of mind? Even though it would take a very large truck and a bunch of very strong guys to clean out my workshop I don't want anything at all taken from me. Tools are expensive.Worth it? Absolutely. Very glad I got this and am waiting on the second one now.Great product and good quality. I see this as a good deal and can easily recommend this.The build quality on this bar is very good.

This Heavy Duty Door Security Bar is a solid and reliable option for boosting home security. It feels extremely sturdy and well-made of metal thick enough to work but not be too heavy to use, offering real peace of mind for securing inward opening doors. It has an adjustable width of 32" to 40" making it versatile and accommodating many size doorways.I did have one concern with the screws provided. They were too short to go through the bracket, door frame, sheetrock and then actual wood, which made me question how securely the barricade would hold in the event of an attempted break-in. I ended up purchasing MUCH longer 3" hardened screws separately, which made the installation far more secure and reinforced the overall strength. I recommend a metal door with door frame reinforcing metal as well, which would allow the door latch and bolt to provide better security when everyone is out, because this door bar can only be used from the inside and is not helpful when away.Despite this minor issue, the Heavy Duty Door Bar is an excellent addition to a layered security strategy. Just be prepared to upgrade the screws to reach wood and get good penetration for maximum strength!

I got this security bar to help block the rear entrance to my office as someone had tried to kick the door open before I was able to scare them away using my Ring camera. I never use the door and even after adding lighting and a Ring camera that lights up the area when it detects motion, I still have folks trying to get into the back door just to take something that's doesn't belong to them. I will mention that this security bar is extremely heavy duty and really only applicable for commercial applications where you have steel beams on either side of your door to attach too, this way there is no possible way for an intruder to kick the door open, it would be easier for them to go through the brick wall, lol. I did as another reviewer mentioned and drilled two additional holes on each side and used my own bolts to secure the bar to my back door. Once in place, you can't budge the back door at all and now I don't have to worry about someone trying to get in. The front of the building is heavily trafficked and lit up very well, so they won't try using that access, so this completely solved my problem and is doing an excellent job at it too, 5 Stars!

This is not for all applications. The brackets are too wide to go into the edge side of a 2"x4". It is difficult to get the bar to the correct length and line up the locking pin with its hole.

The security bar came in quickly and with no issues. The Heavy-Duty Door Barricade Security Bar is a door barricade security bar that is adjustable from 32 - 40-inch wide. The bar is made for internal doors to help with theft protection. The door brace is actually really well made, the issue stems from the screws that the send with the package. Everyone that deals with security knows to put at least 3-inch screws in a security point such as door lock strike because the longer the screw the more wood that has to be gone thru to get into the house. This set includes 1 1/4-inch screws. Once you replace the screw with at least 3-inch screws, then this might help the way it is intended. The company really should take care of the screw issue, because otherwise they are selling false hope in my opinion.
