I was hoping to use this as a letter opener on my desk, but it is utterly useless, other than letting it set on a high shelf so you cannot see how cheaply it is made. The stand is plastic that you have to slip together and gives the whole piece an air of something that you won at a carnival for twenty-five cents. But from afar, it looks OK.
