Easy setup, needs good antenna.
Just plug in, scan channels, and watch. A good quality antenna is a must.

Works as expected
Works just as you would expect it to like any tv. I recently set up a theater room with a projector. The only thing I missed was watching broadcast TV sporting events. I hooked this up to my antenna and projector and plugged in the IR dongle and the usb-c power supply, did a channel search, and within 5 minutes I was watching March Madness on my theater screen. If that sounds like every you need, then buy this, it works.

Great buy
Easy to set up and use. I damaged my coaxial input on my TV by leaving the coax cable connected and I moved my TV. This unit allows me to convert the coax to HDMI and use the alternate connection. Saved me an expensive repair on my new TV.

Ordering this is a BAD idea… AVOID
This should be avoided for many reasons, but I’ve listed the most important ones below:• This device is made from the cheapest possible components available. It will without a doubt fail in under a year. If you’re lucky, you’ll make it past the return window, when you can no longer return it.• You’ll definitely have signal issues, even with 100% quality and strength. Nothing you do will fix this because it’s due to using an ultra cheap tuner/receiver chip inside.• GUl (menu) is painfully slow and unresponsive due to lack of memory.• Remote is flimsy and slow to respond. Even if you do actually manage to figure out what the buttons do, you’ll just be waiting and waiting anyway.• Menus are confusing, and remain on-screen too long- like 60 seconds too long. If you don’t press exit, you’ll be waiting a full minute for them to go away.• Sound quality is poor, and sometimes doesn’t exist at all. Again, cheap components.• Don’t bother programming anything as it will reset itself to factory defaults in a day or two on its own. When this happened a third time, I boxed it up and returned it.This could be a great product, if they would’ve used ANY decent quality components, but when EVERY SINGLE COMPONENT is cheap, something will just inevitably fail. I’ll never understand why they don’t just use decent components and make a solid product…Anyway, do yourself a huge favor and just keep looking. Unless you just have time and money to waste, you don’t want this device.

Works, but needs strong signal from antenna
After re-reading the instructions a few times as well as staring at the product and everything that came with it for a while, and then almost returning the item, I was able to figure out how to make it work. Basically, the remote is an IR remote, so the IR dongle has to be attached for the remote to work. And a working remote is essential for setting up the device - a channel scan needs to be done and video settings updated etc. One issue is that the device needed a stronger signal from the attached antenna than my TV tuner. If the signal is not strong the video keeps breaking up. One way to mitigate this issue somewhat is to set the resolution down to 480i - the picture was steadier then. I am going to try a signal amplifier I have lying around. I will update this review if this helps. In any case, this product more or less works, and it is low cost, so I am keeping it. But be aware of the issues above.

It’s all about the blue button
There’s only a handful of devices that will add network TV to a projector. For me the easy to see and feel blue mute button right on the corner was a deciding factor. If you scroll around a bit you can find the “date first offered” and that tells you how old the design is. This one is 2024 but many other devices are from 2019. The device itself is smaller than the remote but it’s working just fine. Good picture quality and bright colors.

Nice fix for broken coax input
The coax input on my new Samsung smart TV somehow broke off, and so I was left with no way to watch over-the-air programming. This little unit fixed the issue by running the over-the-air signal through one of the HDMI inputs. It actually works out better as I am not too crazy about the remote that came with the TV, anyway.

Quite Pleased With HW135STB Purchase
The HW135STB performs very well as an OTA tuner and OTA video recorder. Pulls in all OTA local stations just like my Samsung TV. After a bit of a learning curve (not any more than on any TV!), I find the user interface quite intuitive for channel surfing and recording/playback of OTA recordings. The instruction booklet guided me through all the features. I did encounter one problem. The unit would not fast-forward when watching recordings. A very necessary feature for skipping past unwanted segments of a broadcast recording. But the issue was successfully resolved when I contacted MediaSonicUSA's support via email. They provided a firmware update which was easy to install. Much better than returning to Amazon! Good customer support.
