Luckily if your very careful this is quite easy just use a flathead screwdriver and gently prise away down the sides of it and the bottom shield will come away, Then it will fit on the heat pad on the MB (don't forget to peel off all the clear tape on it). Reached out to Amazon support with all the steps I tried and in short time got offered a replacement or refund. Picked the replacement option but as it was the last in stock was told that it will take 10 day for the new supply to ship out. Got the replacement much faster (5 days) and it works great.
