My wife is a puzzle person, IYKYK. This puzzle is grandmaster level so beware if you aren’t fully committed, it’s not for the faint of heart.

Solid Black, This Should Be Fun.
I haven't yet put this one together. This one took a bit longer to relieve than the first. It shipped from Germany. There was a slight delay in shipping, I was given the option to cancel my order or wait. I chose to wait. Glad I did.

Just because it is difficult, doesn’t mean it’s fun
If you enjoy a challenging puzzle (I only do 1000 piece puzzles minimum) this is incredibly challenging, to the point of wanting to give up and only do this in the event of an apocalyptic scenario. As one reviewer mentioned the pieces do delaminate after a few connect/disconnects. There are so many nearly identical looking pieces, it quickly becomes a series of trial and errors diminishing any thoughtful strategy. The best advice to complete this puzzle is: 1) do the outside edges, start with the center round piece and work outwards focusing on larger curved pieces forming concentric circles around the center. After that sort by number of buttons (1, 2, 3, 4, 0) and order by size. Also use an LED flashlight to confirm the correct placement. Things that would have made this a 5 star review would be more durable pieces, larger and more unique pieces, a pattern on the back to confirm proper placement at the end, possibly fewer pieces (500?). At $30 this is a bit steep for a blank puzzle, but certainly a unique and challenging addition to any avid puzzlers collection.

All one color, so solving the puzzle is based on shapes. Definitely more challenging than standard puzzles, but that makes the solving all the more rewarding.

Eine echte Herausforderung - und ein tolles Erfolgserlebnis!
Dieses Puzzle hatte ich als vermeintlich nette Urlaubsbeschäftigung gekauft - im Nachhinein würde ich sagen: Wir haben die Herausforderung etwas unterschätzt. 😊 Das Ravensburger Krypt Black ist definitiv nichts für zwischendurch. Ohne Motiv und mit den vielen ähnlich geformten schwarzen Teilen verlangt es jede Menge Geduld, Ausdauer und Konzentration. Mehr als einmal waren wir kurz davor aufzugeben und ehrlich gesagt auch an der Frustrationsgrenze angekommen. Aber genau das macht am Ende den Reiz aus: Nach insgesamt etwa 35 Stunden Puzzlezeit konnten wir das letzte Teil einsetzen - und das Erfolgserlebnis war einfach riesig. Wir waren wirklich stolz, es geschafft zu haben. Die Qualität der Puzzleteile ist, wie man es von Ravensburger kennt, hervorragend. Alles passt sauber zusammen und das fertige Puzzle sieht beeindruckend aus. Für alle, die eine echte Herausforderung suchen, ist dieses Puzzle eine klare Empfehlung. Unser nächstes Puzzle wird allerdings zur Erholung wieder eines mit Motiv. 😊

Great present
I bought this as a secret Santa present for my brother in law! He really enjoyed the challenge! But he gave it back once he completed it to challenge me, unfortunately I have not found the time yet, but I'm looking forward to working on it!
