This works great. Would be easy for beginners. I am NOT a beginner. I am a Professional service man. I needed this kit for a lamp I own. It was cheaper to but this kit than to buy everything separately. Wire connection simple.

The cord is ultra modern, polarized and all rubber, not antique style like the blackened brass.. the "antique style " fixture is also made modern with options for cord installation. You don't want this for your antique lamps..

I purchased this to rewire an antique vanity lamp. The instructions were clear and it took me no time at all to rewire the lamp.

Everything came tightly packed in a tiny little box. But they even included instructions for those who don't know how to re-wire a lamp socket. Everything worked fine and seems like a quality product. It worked so well for the lamp I repaired for someone else that I bought another to make a lamp for myself.

It works OK, but a few important caveats. Be very careful that you insulate the power cord lugs, as they will easily touch the metal housing or each other, causing shock or fire risk. They should have used insulated lugs. Otherwise, it's decent quality for the price.

Kit included everything I needed to update an old lamp that was getting a little "sketchy" about turning on. The cord provided was longer than I wanted, but it's easy to cut to size.It only took a couple of minutes to make my lamp new again.
