Great for F1 noobies
I've been following Will Buxton since the very early 00s and have been a fan of his writing, he just paints a picture with words. I bought this book the moment I became aware of it.This particular book is great for any F1 fan of course, but particularly for the 'Netflix fans'. There are so many new fans that got into the sport because of the Netflix show, which is fantastic because it was about time that people in the US discovered what an awesome sport it is. There IS a slight problem with this, however, because those Netflix fans only know what they are told, and their narrative is often WAAAY off the mark. Unfortunately there is a very real 'reality TV level', to the point that it sometimes feels almost scripted. Some of the storylines are even fabricated out of thin air. F1 is so much more than what you see on Netflix, and this book is a great startIt takes you through the history of Formula One, tells you about the technical aspects of the cars, brief histories of the teams, and a lot of the most important players. It only scratches the surface, so hopefully it'll give you some direction on what to read about next. I'd also recommend subscribing to F1 TV to watch the shows and documentaries, and even full race footage going back to the early 80s.If you call yourself a fan of F1, and you'd like to really get into it, this book should really be on the shelf. It's also available as an audiobook, but that is really more of a companion thing than a stand alone audiobook. A lot of the text annotates illustrations, so you should really have the book in hand as you listen to the audiobook

High quality information
I have known and watched the author of the book for many years and yet the stories, the information and the care with which the book was put together surprised me very positively!I recommend it to anyone who loves motorsport and Formula 1.

Decent but with production issues
The book gives a quick overview of many aspects of F1. The first third is more geared toward casual F1 fans while the last two thirds focuses on the top drivers and races of each decade. My copy seems to have the cover print misaligned though. Overall, it’s a good book but if you’re an F1 enthusiast, there isn’t too much here for you.
