I have been using this disc for 4 cycles. The first time, it was difficult for me to get it right. But once I got it 'right' I loved it. With tampons I'd have to change them every hour for the first couple of days. It was so nice not to be bothered by going to the bathroom every freaking hour with the disc. The second and third cycle was great, very minimal leakage. The 4th cycle, it's been a nightmare. I was awoken at 4 AM this morning needing to change it out. By 8 AM I was leaking BAD, and again about 12PM. I don't know if my flow is heavier this 4th go around but I have been frustrated. I have been irritated with the "mess-free" claim. Bearing down ALWAYS causes it to leak out , and of course it's all over my finger. They claim that you can 'self empty' when you go to the bathroom by bearing down, so how do they claim that bearing down to get it out is 'mess free'? Lucky for me, I've never had to change one while I wasn't home, so I can rinse my hand when I'm done with the messy part. Somehow I always find blood on or around the toilet as well. It drips on its' way to put it in the wrapper to dispose. If I put the wrapper in my underwear to dispose of the disc, it would just get blood all over the underwear. I've had to start cleaning the toilet when I'm done to ensure no blood is left behind. That has bee the downfall for EVERY 4 cycles I've used it for. I'm beginning to think mess free isn't possible with any product. I like the ease of not having to change it so often (twice a day), but after this last time, that may change.

So I would like to start off by saying I have used variety of menstrual products before and I have to say that the flex disc ranks up there at #1 for me. For me the pros outweigh the cons. You get up to 12 hours (more or less depending on your personal heaviness) of almost leak free collection. Unlike a cup that forms the air tight seal the disc just kinda rides there nestled above the pelvic bone. This can cause leaks on heavier days. For those days I just throw on a reusable pad. However the auto-dump feature is pretty great if you effectively engage your pelvic floor muscles. Other than that, you barely feel its there. It is a little messy to remove during that learning curve but I find that sitting on the toilet, using JUST your pointer finger, when pulling it down angle it towards whichever side feels comfortable for you, and it wont cover your entire hand upon removal. (Also note that if you remove quickly while its still partially full, the ring will snap back out and blood will fling everywhere). Keeping all that in mind, the disc isn't for everybody so maybe it would be cool if they had like a sample pack that maybe contained 2 or 3 discs so you could try it before you spend the $16-18 bucks for the full 12 pack only to find out its not for you.

I was very skeptical of these at first bc I have never tried anything besides tampons, I have a very heavy flow and thought nothing could hold as well as tampons even thou those wouldnโt even last me more then two hours. I was very nervous but open minded I chose a day where I would be home to try it out just incase I did it wrong and bled through my clothes. It came with visual instructions that were very helpful within my second try I had it down and was absolutely amazing through my whole period id change it before bed and when I woke up each day and that was it! If it was full it would dump itself out as I peed other then that I had no problems at all and it was super comfortable to could feel it at all. It also says online that there fine for sexual things to and I will say it was mess free and felt no different then normal while active. I absolutely love these they were so good I didnโt even really feel like I had a period besides changing it out

Product description was very accurate in terms of function and directions for use. A few thoughts: -Insertion: After 20 years of experience with tampons, I still insert one slightly wrong, wasting it or causing some minor discomfort, once every two or three cycles. I was concerned about learning to do the disc correctly. However, it was exactly as described and I did it correctly on the first try every time. No leaks after inserting, which is awesome! -Emptying: This only happens when your flow is strong enough that there is a "pool" of liquid in the disc; at the tail-end of my cycle, I found it did not empty because it only contained a few drops at a time. When on the toilet, "bearing down" as if to poop or in labor caused the disc to empty. The first few times, I had some leaking after that, so I started checking the position with my finger after doing this emptying and that seemed to help. -Length of use: I got a true 12 hours of wear every time, even at the heaviest part of my cycle when a Super tampon would not have lasted me 6+ hours. This is a major benefit and why I will stick with these. I'll never have to change my product during work again! Amazing! -Caveats/warnings: Check the position after emptying the disc. Slightly messy to remove compared to flushing a tampon, but not bad because you can empty it before you pull it out. *I was in a rush once and accidentally inserted the new disc before removing the old one - it went in flawlessly. It was easy to fix the mistake, but be careful you don't forget the disc is in, because you can't feel it whatsoever!*

Since the Covid crisis began, local tampon supplies have been unreliable. I have a pretty heavy flow and had been needing the ultra sized tampons. The only store in my town that carried them has been out of them (and most tampons) for months. I've been unable to find them on Amazon for under $20 a box. I decided to try the menstrual cups and received two of these disposable Flex disks with the Flex menstrual cup that I ordered. We ended up taking a weekend trip to Seattle and I was nervous getting a new product on an out of state trip with a long car ride and a long concert to attend. I decided to try the Flex disks over the menstrual cup for the trip because they looked like they would be easier to deal with in public bathrooms. I had no leakage issues at all, they worked perfect. It was way cleaner and easier to manage than tampons. Even the ultra tampon would have leaked at some point with a few times going up to 3 hours before I could use a restroom. It was not the ideal situation to try a new product, but was a good test. I was worried that I would have issues correctly placing the disks because I was still getting the hang of placing the menstrual cup properly. I had no issues getting the disks into place though. I have a low vaginal wall and the disks worked better than the cups for that issue. I do think the cups are cleaner overall, but really both are so much cleaner than tampons. Now I don't have to worry about my local tampon supply!
