Victorinox Genuine PLUS plastic covers - 91mm scales with extra pen slot (Black)

Original black Victorinox scale, fit perfectly and add an additional slot. These are original Victorinox brand and fit my Huntsman pocket knife perfectly. My original red scales were broken and replacing them was simple. Be aware that the high gloss black finish scratches extremely easily (this doesn't bother me, I like the well-worn look anyway). The additional slot is useful as now I can add one more tool to the already versatile pocket knife.

fits easily, and good quality. I needed to replace my damaged red scales, found these black ones and tried them out. The process I used was very easy, I have the compact model, first I took the screwdriver, straight pin, ink pen, tweezers and took pick out and put them in a small bowl so I wouldn't lose them I got a sauce pot filled it with water and got the water boiling, once boiling I pulled the corkscrew out so I had something to handle the knife with. I let it sit for two minutes, laying it on a towel the scales had already separated from the knife, they came off very easy. Installing the new ones, I don't have a vice but using small water pump pliers with tape on the jaws, I placed the scales on the knife, wrapped a towel around the knife and gently pressed the scales into place, they went on easily it only takes a minute or so, I didn't apply a lot force, just gentle light pressure. Im happy. Hopes this helps.

I purchased my 91mm Victorinox Compact in Salzburg Austria in 1998 and the scales on it were getting pretty worn after 28 years. These transculent red scales really make it look new again. Installation is easy, just soak the knife in boiling water for a few minutes and the old scales pop right off. Use some padding on a vice or clamp to install the new ones.

Beautiful. Used a hair dryer with a diffuser on it on a low heat setting to soften up the original red scales on my fieldmaster. Popped them off and then heated up the new blue scales on the inside of them, then I gently used a small vice (with a towel on the sides of the SAK) to put these blue scales on. I did not want to use warm water to soften the scales, and a hairdryer worked perfectly. (Just don't get the plastic too hot; a diffuser helps with this.) You should be able to hold your hand under the warm air for a decent amount of time so you know the plastic is safe. I hope this helps someone who doesn't want to get their SAK soaked for no reason. Now I'm just waiting for my pen, so I covered up the empty pen slot with some painters tape so it doesn't get filled with gunk while the slot is empty.

These plus scales (the outside plastic) add a slot for the slip in pen. Three slots tweezers, pick and pen (and the pin hole) behind the corkscrew/philips screwdriver cutaway on the 91mm Victorinox length Swiss Army knives. To remove the scales, simply soak in 70c water for a few min to soften the previous scales and pry off gently (they may be useable again BUT a bit of material that grips the side studs is going to weaken the reuse). A proper moderate sized vise to clamp the new scales on OR perhaps a C clamp could be utilized, finger pressure alone would not be adequate. The pen is quite handy(sold separately). If you have the package hook on the back of your model, the pen can slot in for an improntue pen handle. For me I look to tools in my pocket when out and about. The knife itself, while sometimes the tool to use is not why I carry a Victorinox VS much better pocket dedicated knife. Don't limit your toolset by thinking of these as a knife, they have a remarkable number of uses out and about. ( I have 4 with different tools sets, wearing shorts I carry the light weight 1 & 2 layer with a belt I carry 4 layer with additional tools).

Arrived used, as if someone had trouble attaching them and used tape. These are press fit onto the knife and you get one chance to do it right. Here’s how if you don’t have a vice. Take a pair of pliers, wrap the jaws in duct tape (I also put a piece of an index card folded under the tape. Line them up and squeeze with I’d say about 20-25lbs of force. Just enough for the plastic holes to push over the brass rivets. See the photos I left. Overall a good replacement but disappointed in getting a pair someone obviously returned when they couldn’t figure out how to press fit them.

Exactly as advertised easy to install

Makes an older knife like new again. Before removal of old scales put knife and new scales in very warm water to help retain the studs that hold on the scales.

Looks genuine and the same quality we know of Victorinox. My first time replacing scales but it was very easy. Used an other SAK knife blade to take off the other scales and applied the new ones. Used a clamp to get it flush, all under 5 minutes. Hope to find red plus scales too!

Breathed new life into my 30 year old Victorinox knife. Unfortunately damaged the old ones taking them off (I think brittleness due to age). The new ones are easy to fit - as many people say use a c clamp to gently press on. Don’t use a hammer as some people suggest!
