The kit comes with 2 button batteries, one in the unit and the second as a replacement. The first battery, in the unit did not work to allow the red dot to appear, and I had to replace it with the spare and the laser sight unit did operate as advertised. The original battery was too weak to startup the unit. Suggest packaging the unit with both batteries out to conserve battery power before use.
