Briggs and Stratton Genuine Fuel Tank Cap 497929S

I misplaced the cap for the Briggs & Stratton 450E engine on my Villager mower about a YEAR ago now and just cannot find it for the life of me, I actually think aliens took it. After living for all that time with the shocking "temporary fix" you see in the "before" picture (I do not recommend this solution for fire safety reasons) I finally found this replacement cap. I couldn't be 100% sure it would fit but I took the risk and what do you know, perfect! I can't really fault it as it does exactly what it is supposed to, and now I no longer have an excuse not to mow the garden! I suppose it looks a bit cheap and plasticky, but that's probably because it is, or maybe just because it's new and clean. Certainly not going to complain about that, it does the job. I expect the old one will turn up now.

Amazon’s return policy is another successful add on that keeps me coming back. Like most purchasers of these little ancillaries I thought “would it fit?” Will I be able to return it is a key aspect and fortunately no need It fits, a bargain supermarket mower with a Briggs & Stratton 575EX engine where the cap had been mislaid by husband or wife (we both deny all knowledge of it). A search and a few clicks on Amazon - result happiness.

Got this for an Einhell mower as there didn't seem to be any Einhell ones to buy. It's not quite an exact fit but it does the job. I have painted it pink so next time it comes off I will have a better chance of finding it.

Perfect fit, exactly as described and appears the same as the original cap. Looks good quality and is a good price too!

Product was fine however the cap was to small for my lawnmore. Having sizes published would have been helpful.

Even though the "Powerbase 140cc 500e Petrol Lawn Mower - 46cm" has a Briggs and Stratton engine this "Briggs and Stratton Genuine Fuel Tank Cap" does NOT fit. Original cap must have unscrewed due to vibration and is lost. Homebase does not sell spare caps and curiously all the mowers on showroom display have missing caps!

Perfect fit for my Craftsman 675 Series Briggs & Stratton Engine. This one replaced the Fuel Tank Cap (part No. 699985). It even has the slot for the Fresh Start capsules. This one is more solid than the original one the mower came with.

After several purchases this fuel cap fitted my mower, and is excellent. Anyone requiring a replacement cap must check with the engine manufacturer to ensure you purchase the correct cap ref no. Many outlets state their cap will fit your engine model, and then it doesn’t so please check beforehand.
