I think "banana bread" is a misnomer; "banana cake" would be more accurate, because it is sweet and moist, like a "fruit cake". The loaves are smaller than a sandwich bread loaf, but being a fruit cake are much denser; these are 18 oz each, close to a sandwich bread loaf commonly 20 oz, but the sandwich loaf is larger because it has much more gas from yeast. (Another reviewer wrote that they are "... SLIGHTLY bigger..." than a "...3x5 index card" but I measured 3.5 in X 7.5 in midway up the sloped sides (so larger than this at the top) which did not in any way remind me of an index card.) Each loaf was in perfect condition, baked in a cardboard baking tray, then covered with a stiff plastic lid, all shrink-plastic wrapped (but the loaf stuck to the cardboard so it didn't bounce around inside anyway).
