I love these 1 pound cakes. Easy to slice and last a long time. I buy them every year just for my family to enjoy for months.

I have ordered Claxton fruit cake though Amazon many, many times and have gotten delivery on time or even earlier. If your order is late, I suggest you follow through with the vendor tand/or Amazon to see what happened.

Q: What would make it dry, freezing it prior to sale? packaging not airtight? Is there a freshness expiration date?

I buy these every year around September to wrap in cheese cloth and soak for two months in bourbon and one in rum. They went on sale after Christmas and i bought several. I wrapped them tightly in zip lock bags and froze them. A year later, after the soaking, they were as delicious as ever.
