Oasis Supply LeSaffre Saf-Instant Yeast, Gold, 1 Pound, (Pack of 2)

I didn’t start baking for the quarantine, but I’ve really learned more about it and been more regular since. This was my first venture beyond the 2.5 tsp packets and I was pleasantly surprised. After watching numerous YouTube vids, I chose this brand (I’d only ever used Fleishman’s) and when it came, it was vacuum sealed like a package of coffee. I tossed one package in the freezer and divided the otherr into two small brown ball jars. Adding a label including the “use by” date, I started my first loaf of whole wheat bread in my bread machine. The loaf is as good and light as any I’ve produced from this recipe, maybe a bit more rise which is fine with me. Looks like I’m good for the apocalypse!

I got this yeast because of its price and the review on it is pretty good. This is my 2nd purchase on the same exact item. The review says it is good on sweet bread but I have been making all kinds of bread. The result is excellent every single time. The yeast stays fresh and active. I just love it! This is the best brand I have used so far.

I love this ceased for so many reasons it performs beautifully. You can use a little bit less and you can add directly into your dry mix. I just love it. It makes baking breads so much more simple.

I'm a relatively recent bread baker, having taken it up in the last 3 years because I feel like if I'm going to be eating bread, I may as well have it sans-preservatives, right? The yeast seems to work as well as Fleischman's and Red Star, refrigerates well, freezes well, dissolves fine in warm water, activates well. Besides, it came at the right time (was running low, and all the panic-shoppers kept buying up all the freaking yeast. Jerks).

Keeps for years in the freezer in a tightly sealed Mason jar. Happy with this purchase but will revert to the red label going forward bc I do not bake enough sweet breads to need this yeast. Took 5 years to use bath packages - the last rose as well as the first.
