A ghost from Lance's past starts a new mystery
This was another cracker in the Morgan Dane series by this author and I found myself once again falling down the rabbit hole. If you haven't read any other books in the series, you don't need to to read this one, but there are references to old cases, events and facets of relationships. Nothing pivotal nor crucial to the current story being told but if you're OCD about reading a series from the beginning like me, you've been warned :) After reading the description, I wasn't sure that I was going to get into this story as it sounded as though it revolved more around Lance's personal life rather than a case as such, but it hooked me in straight away and I'm glad to say it was a terrific read.Book 3 takes place about a month after the previous story ended. As an old Buick is pulled out of a local lake, Lance's life takes a curve ball as it's found to be the vehicle belonging to his father that's been missing for twenty-three years. The next problem? There's a skeleton in the boot. Morgan and Lance go through the usual battle with the local sheriff as they conduct their investigation to give Lance and his mother closure, but more questions start to arise. When people related to the case start turning up dead, Sharp, Morgan and Lance try to put the pieces together. Add to that a possible stalker for Morgan, a new ADA who's decided Morgan is his enemy, Lance's mother's mental health spiralling out of control and the latter's natural instinct to not accept help and shut out the people who care about him and you have the makings of a great story that had me unwilling to put the book down. The writing was solid and it was great to see Morgan and Lance's relationship grow deeper and take another step towards something permanent. The secondary characters continued to compliment the story line and I love how this author makes Morgan's chaotic home life and struggles to move on with her life realistic and relatable. Juggling her job with three young girls starts to take its toll as does the reality that her grandfather is aging. There was also a large focus on Lance's life and how growing up without his father affected him. As the potential for his mother to deteriorate increased as the case progressed, so did the repercussions on Morgan and Lance's tentative feelings towards one another. While the case of Lance's missing father takes the forefront, the author still manages to develop the characters throughout the story and makes it feel as though the reader is catching up with old friends. There were a couple of great twists in this book and once again you get the perspective of the main characters as well as the killer. It had a good amount of intrigue and suspense while still being an easy read. I didn't think it was possible, but Lance was even more delicious in this book - the perfect balance of protective, supportive and swoon-worthy. I'll definitely be continuing with the next book.

a fun, suspenseful read
I really enjoyed this book, as I did the two before it. Morgan and Lance are a dream team when it comes to solving mysteries and watching each other’s backs (plus, I love their romance) and Sharp rounds out the trio perfectly. These are really enjoyable books. Fast paced and consistently entertaining.

A romantic mystery thriller!
Bones Don’t Lie is the third book in this series with Attorney Morgan Dane and PI Lance Kruger on another case. This time the case involves some bones that were found in Lance’s father’s car. His father was never found but bones were discovered inside the trunk of the car that were did not belong to his father.Lance feels compelled to help solve this mystery and at the same time find his father who has been missing for twenty odd years. He wants to uncover the mystery not only for himself but also for his mother who has suffered from depression ever since. Along with the help of other supporting characters the two somehow survive the most dangerous situations. This story was filled with multiple suspects as Morgan and Lance delve deeper into the mystery. When they get a little too close to the truth they find their lives and those they love in danger. There are twists and turns that keep the reader guessing while at the same that build the suspense. This was an enjoyable read and series that is not only a mystery but also a romance between the two main protagonists. I look forward to the next book by this talented author of mystery and suspense.

Just had to keep reading!
Got this book through recommendation..and pleased I did so. It didn't get boring and had good thinking processes about family and how to react to other people's momentan feelings...not so much lovey dovey stuff used. Also enjoyed the intricacies ...a good read.

Better that the first book
Decidedly better than " her last goodbye", there are still irrelevant details used to fill the pages and increase their number, but the story is more interesting and better built. Yet, the only round character is Morgan. I'd work more on building up full characters.

Great page turner. Loved the characters. A great suspense novel. Hope there is a sequel to this story. Maybe lance and Morgan married.
I would definitely recommend this book and author. Anxious to read other books by this author. Easy text to read.
