It fits nicely in my roof rack but that's hardly a design plan on their behalf I suppose.Plastic clips feel a bit flimsy but it's stayed on so far.It is not waterproof. I have my camping gear in in and when I opened it up to o get things out it's all wet. Camping chairs, sleeping bags, blankets.... The whole lot. Spend more on a better one unless you only plan on using it when ou know the weather will be nice.

Straps are very poor quality. Had to put extra straps on at service station as strap snapped.
