Meditations - The Classical Translation by George Long (Reader's Library Classics)

I was introduced to Stoic philosophy and Emperor Marcus Aurelius' Meditations through a popular podcast a while back. They suggested the George Long translation, which offers more vintage and classic English. I wasn't disappointed.Filled with practical wisdom, this version of Meditations is both pleasant to read and beautifully illustrated throughout. Highly recommended!

Now that I can actually understand what I’m reading, I can really appreciate this book. Thank you for the translation! I also wanted to read this and understand it. Beautifully done. I must read.

It is frustrating to have to go back time and time again to get the meaning of a sentence. Translating from ancient languages may not be a piece of cake, but surely there's a way to make MA's wisdom more palatable, linguistically speaking ?

This is such a fascinating read. It’s incredible how something that can be written so long ago is now still so relebant!I love how easy it is to pick up and put down. Only have 5 mins to read at a time? This is the book for you! Makes me feel so filled up after reading little snippets. Such great life advice!
