We already had the Cozy Cottage Starter House, but since this Red Roof Cozy Cottage stacks with the Red Roof Country Home, we decided to get this too. It is a cute little house. I like the addition of shutters and a little almost balcony on the top floor. The stairs, though very simple, are also a step up (no pun intended) from the rung ladder included with the old version. It also has side doors on both the top and bottom floors,with a removable railing for the top. That makes it connect to the rooms in the bigger house. The upper level floor is removable. Unlike the old version, it doesn't flip over to a grassy surface. But that is because it has a place for a (not included) light to be installed. So I guess there is a pro and con there. The furniture and figure that comes with each is identical, which is unfortunate. It would be nice if they had changed it up. The houses are different colors. The old version matches the Red Roof Townhouse better while this goes with the Cozy Cottage and Sweet Raspberry Home. But they are all close enough that they look good together. This size house is good if you are just getting started with Calico Critters and don't want to invest a lot of money. You can find out if your kids will actually enjoy these toys first. It won't hold much in the way of extra furniture, so don't bother spending money on those of this is the only house you are getting. But we highly recommend this house and all the Calico Critters toys.

My daughter and I BOTH love Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families! She has built up quite the "Critter World" and playing with it together--I do the lion's share of the set-up work/decorating to keep it more in tune with my personal (grown-up) interests--gives us lots of mutually enjoyable bonding time. This particular house was purchased as an additional level for my daughter's large Red Roof Country Cottage, and we love that it gave her more rooms to play in without taking up more precious tabletop real estate. Additionally, this starter home with the included bunny Critter and furniture has become a go-to birthday gift for my daughter's good friends who love her Calico Critters and don't have any of their own. I generally watch for it to go on sale for $23.99 and stash one for a gift, which is more reasonable in our area/social circle for a present. It's an ideal first piece! If a child really loves it, it meshes well with other homes and items, and if Calico Critters don't become a favorite, this doesn't represent a large investment. As with all Calico Critter/Sylvanian Families items, I am happy with the quality. Because they can get spendy, I particularly expect these toys to offer longevity and so far they really do! We play gently, but a LOT, and move the homes around often. Everything is holding up beautifully!

I got these during the previous Prime Day sales. It is an excellent dollhouse. Since my child is still young (2 and a half), I am keeping the small parts (e.g. plates, utensils, etc) away for now. But she can still play with the rabbit doll and the furniture, and she is having fun with it. As she grows older, I will consider introducing more house/dolls/furniture. There is a good variety to chose from. This is a good starting set of Calico Critters. The toy has many details and beautiful to look at. Meanwhile, if you prefer a large size, more sturdy dollhouse set, this is probably not it. The overall size of the house is rather small and so is everything else that comes in it. In the end, it depends on what your child likes.

This set is such a great starter set! Comes with a figure and quite a bit of furniture to get started with calico critters! My one big complaint is that the chair legs break off so easily. I reached out to the company and they basically just told me they don’t have replacement parts and to buy a new set. What?? I wasn’t asking for free replacement parts or anything. I would be happy to purchase new chairs for a few dollars, but obviously I don’t want an entire new house! So that’s several thumbs down for the company. I tried gluing them but they keep coming off. So just be aware of that if you buy this! :)

Some of the products shown in my video are separate pieces such as the pink picnic car and the Persian Cat families, but overall I love this home. It’s great to either take a apart to make a large home of, or use as a two story home for a small Calico Critter family. I think it’s beautiful, I definitely find myself wanting to indulge and buy more accessories for the home. I would for sure recommend this for children over four and anyone else (like me, lol) who enjoys creating little wholesome videos and such. If I could give this a higher rating, I would. The details are impeccable and I’m just over the moon with the home. The bunny is very soft and her dress is very well decorated. 💗🌷💗🌷💗🌷💗🌷💗

La casita llegó en una caja dentro de otra caja, y como han mencionado en otros comentarios, pese a que es internacional, no se demora en llegar. Será un bonito regalo de navidad para mi sobrina.

I purchased this toy to add to my own collection of toddler toys for visiting grandchildren. It’s a delightful set for innocent, imaginative, device free play. It arrived in perfect condition and in appropriate time due to the pandemic. I have no doubt that the children will enjoy it immensely.
