Surprisingly good thermometer
I use instant-read thermometers all the time in the kitchen. I check meat, fish, the water temperature for activating yeast, making custard, tempering chocolate, etc. My thermometers get a lot of use, nearly daily.I have a Thermapen classic (RRP Β£53) and a Thermapen One (RRP Β£78).This thermometer is a great, low budget alternative. The display is clear and the backlight works well to help see the screen. It displays the temperature quite quickly. Not as fast as the expensive branded ones, but it gets there within a few extra seconds.I know that my Thermapens are accurately calibrated by the factory, so I used them as my reference for testing the accuracy of this thermometer straight from the box. This thermometer read the temperature as 0.2Β°C below the Thermapen at room temperature and 0.2Β°C above when measuring some water. So thereβs about a 0.4Β°C discrepancy. For me, thatβs plenty accurate enough for all of my uses. This thermometer claims to be waterproof. I gave it a wash under the tap before first using it and it did survive. However, water continued to seep from the seams after drying. With my previous thermometers, the thing that killed them was water getting into the internals.Even though it states that this thermometer is waterproof, I donβt like to take the risk. Before use, I wrap the body of the thermometer in one layer of cling film. Once Iβm done using the thermometer, I can just throw the cling film away and just wash the probe. It keeps the body safe from water and protects it from getting dirty from food/grease splatter during use.In terms of fit and finish, this thermometer is a bit lacking. The rotating probe feels a little loose and there were some sharp plastic bits on the seams that I needed to sand off.I think this is a remarkably good thermometer, especially considering the price and would recommend it to anyone who cooks. Having a good thermometer makes cooking so much easier and gives you better, more consistent results.

Handy little device. Build quality is OK for the price
Surprisingly nice little device. Seems to be accurate out of the box, though if you do happen to notice the readings are off, it can be calibrated by dipping in ice water. Although it is made of plastic, it seems sturdy enough for everyday use, and at this price I donβt think you can complain about the build quality. Probe is sharp enough to penetrate into joints of meat. Whilst the product page suggests it is waterproof, the provided instructions do suggest to avoid submerging it into water. I personally just wipe it down after use β I donβt really see the need for anything more than that. It also has a bottle opener and a magnetic base built in. I initially dismissed these as being a bit gimmicky, but it is surprising how useful both of these additions have been, and it is very handy to just stick it on the fridge door rather than rooting through a drawer for it.Overall, seems to be a good thermometer for a reasonable price. Iβve had no real issues or problems in using it.

Really easy and convenient to use!
This is my first time using a meat thermometer, and Iβm glad to say itβs an absolute breeze to use! The recommended temperatures all being listed directly on the device itself is absolutely ideal, saving needing to look up the info in the manual each time πThe quality seems great as well, the rotation isnβt too tight or loose, and the plastic feels thick enough that I donβt see it breaking easily.A minor complaint would be that it doesnβt lock into place when closed over (thereβs a bit of plastic which looks like it should hold it, but itβs not thick enough), but the rotation is sturdy enough that it likely wonβt matter anyway.

quick readings, easy to use, washable, good ergonomic design. Buttons could be better
PROS-very quick to give a reading-clear screen-easy to use-it turns on when you open it, excellent ergonomic design-can store readings-very easy to clean (it can be fully washed)-magnet for attaching to e.g. fridge-screen flips if you turn it upside down-a few temperature tipsCONS-buttons quite βsquishyβ-when I fold the metal probe closed, it doesnβt _quite_ align with the storage notch on the body of the device (Iβm considering bending it a tiny bit, but I donβt want to damage it).NOTES-inclusion of a bottle opener is a hilarious decision: it adds bulk, while assuming that anyone using this thermometer is drinking (likely) a beer while BBQβing (which is often true with me, Iβll admit :-)MY STAR RATINGS:1* substandard, mostly cons2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros

Works well and seems to be accurate
During the covid lockdown I had much more time for cooking and started to experiment with new dishes and new techniques. I continued after lockdown ended but some of the recipes Iβm trying these days need more accurate temperature control. This thermometer is simple to use and works well.It has three buttons: Centigrade or Fahrenheit select, hold, which freezes the display so you can read the temperature and a light button. The thermometer switches on when you unfold the probe but the back light for the LED turns off after about ten seconds or so to save power so the light button turns it back on.It takes one CR2032 coin battery and is supplied with one fitted. Thereβs a printed instruction leaflet (with text large enough to read without a magnifying glass).I donβt have any accurate way to test the accuracy of the temperature measurement but I put then end into some boing water in a saucepan and it read close to 100 degree C, so it seems pretty accurate. On the other hand for cooking a few degrees either way probably isnβt that important. There are two magnets on the back so I could attach it to my fridge but I would have liked them to be a bit stronger.

Accurate.
Fairly big size, good make, solid quality, accurate measurements. It fold to power off and unfold to power on, so far it is accurate for my baking.

I needed this!
I've grown weary of traditional thermometers. When I am cooking, I like to know very quickly what the temperature is - especially with my meat, where seconds can matter. I live that it turns on when you open it and off when you close it. I love that it can measure in both celsius and Fahrenheit. I love that it has a "hold" button, so it retains the temp you just took - which is nice if you are recording temps. It is easy to clean. It has a nice magnet on it if you want to put it on the fridge or metal rack of sorts. It also has a bottle opener on the end. But most of all, I lose things a lot - and I love that it is bright red, and BIG! This has quickly become one of my go-to tools in the kitchen!!

Accurate and Durable Cooking Thermometer
RUNZI's thermometer has become an invaluable kitchen tool with its 2-3 second response time and wide -58Β°F to 572Β°F range. The foldable probe neatly stores in drawers, or I use the magnet or hook to conveniently attach it to our fridge. I like the waterproof design which means mess-free cleaning, while the auto-off prevents battery drain. Sturdy and splash-proof, it has survived my messy kitchen. My only gripe is the small LCD screen. For the price, it reliably helps me cook proteins perfectly without overcooking and calibrating oil temperatures for frying.

A great thermometer
This thermometer is a nice size - both folded and extended. It is easy to use to get temperatures of things in the oven or in pots. It seems to be accurate - at least it gives a temperature that I am expecting and is the same as another thermometer I have,I really like how it turns on automatically when opening and that some of the main meat temperatures are written on the front. It has an easy to read display and is easy to change from F to C. You can also freeze a temperature which I wasnβt sure how useful that was but it is nice when you canβt see the temperature easily when putting the probe in.Overall I am quite happy with this thermometer.
