Ivar, Timewalker Vol. 1: Making History

I read alot of comics, trade paperbacks and hardcovers. But I find it difficult to select trades or series to share with people I know, It is hard to know what to give someone, comics are not all spandex superheroes. Their is a huge selection / variety of entertaining books. This is clearly one of them.Ivar, Timewalker. Timetravel stuff is a genre I avoid. Put off by the title I purchased it due to its links to the valiant universe and Ivars two brothers who have their on or shared titles. Written amazingly well by Fred Van Lente, who had also writen a series based partly on Ivars brother Armstong ) Archer and Armstrong).A interesting take on time travel and spins, uses of time travel as a device to tell and interesting entertaining story really surprised me. Great book and a confident choice to share with other readers

Neela Sethi is a physicist who is on the cusp of inventing time travel, when she is suddenly visited by the Timewalker, Ivar Anni-Padda (one of the three Brothers, the other two being Gilad, the Eternal Warrior and Armstrong of Archer & Armstrong). Ivar has to come to stop Neela's experiments for he feels her work may soon threaten the stability of the space/time continuum while also drawing the dire attention of future time-travellers who now want to kidnap Neela.What follows is an insane, extraordinary adventure through time and space. Sprinkle in some mad-cap danger, suspense, and wit, and you have one of the most entertaining comics on the racks today.Clayton Henry's art is a perfect match for this level of fun. His panel layouts are inventive, adding flair to the chase scenes through time as Ivar seeks to protect Neela from the dark forces of the future. A clean, crisp style, bolstered by the strong color tones of Brian Reber. The book reads smart and looks smart.This is one of the best titles that VEI offers currently, a fine addition to their stable of quality comic books. Do yourself a favor, take a walk through time (and on the wild side) with Ivar, you won't be disappointed.
