A bit flimsy
Compared to the higher quality cables that come with the camera, this cable is thinner (that may be an advantage as it's slightly more flexible) and the ink is lighter. It does not have the RU mark either. The blue stiffening tabs on the ends of the cable seem OK. That said, it works fine with the Pi cam (I have the v2) so far and it's good for long runs e.g. for mounting on the Z-axis of a 3D printer.

Not for a pi display
This ribbon cable does not fit the raspberry pi display. The pins need to be on opposite sides for a display to work. The pins on this cable are on the same side so we'll burn out your raspberry pi display chip.

Great for the PiCAM when fitted to 3D printers
I've been building a 3D printer and wanted to fit a camera for time lapse photography to enable prints to be recorded. The issue with the Pi Cam is that they come supplied with a ribbon cable barely long enough to reach outside the Raspberry Pi enclosure. I bought this longer length cable so I could fit the camera onto my Tronxy X5S bed frame and allow sufficient movement to allow full travel of the Z Axis (400mm) whilst the other end connected to my Raspberry Pi located in an electronics enclosure on the front of the machine.. It works fine and the connection is exactly the same as the standard ribbon cable. Just make sure you get them the right way around in the connectors.
