These things work great! I was concerned about the material quality and general build of the product, as the pictures give the impression that they might be a bit flimsy, however, i was pleasantly surprised as they are exactly the weight and thickness this purpose calls for. They are easy to assemble and have kept that infuriating pigeon from landing on my air conditioner and waking me up ever since I installed them using double stick tape.

These spikes are GREAT!! It DOES take a little time to snap the spikes into place, but it's very easy and no tools needed. You WILL however need an little electric screwdriver with an extension to screw these spike strips into place, because once you get the spikes snapped-on, you no longer have room to put the screw in & bolt it down - not without scratching your hand up. These won't hurt an animal - unless it SLAMS INTO THEM FULL SPEED LOL... But that would be the same result if a bird smacks into your sliding glass door. Other than that it's just REALLY uncomfortable to get a poke from those spikes. But my purpose in using them was that squirrels or raccoons or whatever - were gnawing on the old plastic drain grate in my backyard (You can see their teeth marks on the green grate in the photo). So I designed & 3D printed a NEW GRATE, then put the spikes on it and installed it on my drain in the back yard; now they can't get to this one. I also designed & built a LOCKBOX for my packages in the front yard. The box itself was from Home Depot and it's plastic. But it still had to be put together and I built a palette & weatherproofed it. Then I mounted the palette to some 24in. long ground spikes, then bolted the lockbox to the palette so neither wind nor villains can carry it away lol. It came out beautiful! But sure enough - I started seeing teeth marks in the plastic as the animals gnawed on it all night. 😡 I put another set of spikes on the top of it = no more teeth marks!! lol.. I DID hear something out there thudding around one night and screaming off into the night, so I think SOMETHING tried to jump on top to gnaw some more - but this time the trunk fought back and WON! lol.. So yeah, I LOVE these spikes... I think I'm going to super-glue them to the TV remote & refrigerator handle next! 😁👍

Perfect for keeping woodpeckers and other birds from roosting in our newly built metal building. Woodpeckers were attempting to drill into the metal shed with quite a bit of noise. Once these were up, they no longer visited this location.

WEAR EYE PROTECTION, as noted elsewhere. This is not a joke, you could end up with serious eye damage if not careful. These are effective, easy to install, etc.; however, sometimes if you are not holding them tightly enough, they will spring out of the holes into your face or chest or wherever.... One of them bounced off my glasses. Truth is they are a pain to put together, but got to where I could assemble one in 2.5 minutes, so not a great effort or waste of time. Still, being in a hurry, a couple of them were not properly seated before I released them, and Poing! off they went. Note too: To forestall rusting (they claim to be stainless, but the spikes don't look it), I spray painted them after assembly to match the house color. BL: They are almost invisible in the roof rafters and the mourning doves have moved on.... Last, they cut easy enough but you'll need heavy scissors or tinsnips (and that's only for the strip, the wires need wire cutters).

If you look at the screw holes in each spike strip, you will find a hole near the end of the spike strip and NOT at the other end. Thus, I slid my next strip under the screw hole end and used a single screw to hold down both spike strips. Not sure if it was designed this way or not but that is how I connected by strips for a continuous line. Excellent quality product. I will buy them again. DO use a masonary bit if drilling into brick!

I bought this not for birds but to keep cats off my lawnmower seat it worked great, they don’t even think about hanging out there anymore !

I would like to start this review describing the product as easy to assemble and install. The material components are of good quality and the assembly is easily adjusted to fit appropriately in the space you desire. Now let’s talk about the effectiveness of the product… Perhaps it’s our geographical location breeding super birds, or perhaps it’s a conspiracy that birds are truly “not birds”, either way, we were defenseless against them. This product was not only unable to repel the evil bestowed upon us, but was compromised and used to serve their mission. We were infiltrated and conquered as if the birds were the spirits of the United States Marines on the Sand of Iwo Jima, this is really the only plausible explanation. Our plea is to manufacture, they need to fix their deficiencies and provide alternate configurations of this product! Perhaps a different model that is equipped with 1000 volt charge, on one that comes with proximity mines, or if you dealing with birds like ours… a model with surface to air artillery. Our efforts have been in vain, we have been beaten and forced into surrender, does the manufacturer not care? Or perhaps they are in allegiance with these creatures!? Are they helping then infiltrate your homes…?

These were easy to assemble, and have been working great! In fact, they are working so great under my deck, the birds are now trying to make nests on the light on my garage! Haha!! I don’t know what to do about the light yet… a wood plank is not part of the vibe I was going for!!! 😂😂 Pesky birds!
