Great every day knife
This knife is a great everyday carry knife, lite weight and has a great action to the blade. No regrets, I would buy another today if I lost this one.

Small lightweight knife. Typical CRKT quality
This is a solid little knife. It is quite small and actually fits in the coin/5th pocket in jeans. I didn''t realize it was this small as I have seen pictures of the drifter and have known about it for years but as it has now been released with D2 steel and g10 scales, I certainly wanted to try it.I have other CRKT knives and they are all high quality, while still being fairly budget priced. This knife is no different (though for a knife this size with D2 I do believe this is a bit overpriced). The knife is well centered, flicks open easily, and razor sharp out of the box. It feels good in the hand, though is quite small for me. I do think the thumb studs are fairly sharp on this which take away from the overall comfort, but the knife is made well. I also think the liner lock is fairly hard to disengage (but this is the case on lots of smaller knives). Lockup on it is very good though. With flipper deployment as an option too, I'll likely use more often than the thumb studs which just aren't that comfortable (though both do open the knife with ease due to the new bearings that the old drifters didn't have). I also don't like the fact that this knife is only tip down (with a pocket clip that is NOT deep carry). The clip is very strong though and holds tight to the pocket.I really like this knife for a low-profile, smaller knife. It is really quite small and quite thin. If it was just a bit less in rough overall cost at the time of this review I'd say it is a really good value but as of now seems to be a slight bit more than it should be for a knife this size with D2. I've had a few CRKT knives that I got many years ago that I still use today and that work just as well as when I got them. I expect the same from this knife.

My new favorite EDC
The media could not be loaded. Very smooth opening mechanism which futures both, thumb stud and flipper action. Compact and lightweight but feels good on my hands. The G10 handle has a good texture and feel. The clip is sturdy and secures the knife in place reducing the risk of loosing it. The clip can be removed but can’t be switched making it harder for left hand use. Great value, it feels and performs better than higher priced knives.

Excellent Knife!
I was surprised to see this knife pop up on Amazon Vine. CRKT is a big name in knives, and the Drifter has been around for awhile. But the D2 blade steel and G10 scales are new, so I guess they decided to let the vine voices speak. This is, in short, a terrific knife. It has all the best features that have made the Drifter so popular as a low-cost knife, and improved blade steel and scales combination that bump the knife up in both quality and cost. But it is still an excellent value--you're getting a lot for your money. This version of the drifter retains the no-frills attitude of its line,The scales are milled out to accommodate the steel frame, thus allowing for a lighter, thinner knife without sacrificing strength. This knife is simply top notch!I do have a couple of nits to pick, though.First is the limited carry options. If you use the pocket clip on this knife, you WILL carry it with the tip down. I prefer tip up so that my finger more naturally rests on the flipper as I'm pulling the knife out of my pocket. But there is no option to move the pocket clip to the other end or the other side of this knife. So if you're a lefty, the carry configuration is even more inconvenient. It seems like an unnecessary and unfortunate restriction baked into the design.I would also like to have an option for deeper carry. The OEM clip leaves about half an inch sticking above your pocket. I prefer to keep my carry a little more discreet, so I may look into a deep carry clip. The only other change I'd make is to build the knife about a half-inch longer so it would fit my hand better. But it isn't bad as is, and if I've reached the point in my review where I'm complaining about a small knife being a small knife, then I should probably call it a day. This is a very nice edc knife--one that you won't fuss over too much as it gathers the patina of age and use, but one that will serve you reliably when called upon. Excellent value!

If you like the looks of this knife...
Go for it. The fit and finish are good and the materials are great for EDC. The lockup is nice and tight and the release is easy to operate. The clip might be a little shallow but the action is smooth....

Compact, well built pocket knife
The Drifter is a small folding pocket knife. The product photos show the knife off pretty well and its' also thin. I uploaded a photo comparing this with a pen. It is about the same width as the pen and slimmer than other pocket knives I have. Its' built very well and it snaps open as soon as you flip it open. There is a thumbstud on the blade but its' so much funner flipping it open. The liner lock is solid. It is a little stiff but you can still easily disengage it.The handle is very flat and small but grippy due to the texture on it. I have average sized hands and it is slightly uncomfortable to hold due to the size. Someone with larger hands may not like holding it.The clip is fine with enough retention to keep it on your pocket. For a small knife, like this one, I would prefer a clip that allowed the knife to sit deeper in your pocket but its' fine. The fit and finish is top notch. The knife rotates on the pivot very, very smoothly and there's nothing I had to adjust or change. The knife came pretty sharp and seems to hold an edge pretty well.

Great EDC
Nice weight.Comfortable scales.Locking latch feels secure. The bolster is formed by part of the blade that swings out - nice touch. No worries about slipping up onto the edge. Can open with just the thumb - useful if your other hand is occupied.Blade is relatively sharp out of the box, but could use a bit more honing if you want razor sharp. The cuts were mostly clean, but dragged a bit on entry (see photo). For opening boxes and cutting zip ties, etc., no worries at all.
