Vogue® Knitting The Ultimate Sock Book: History*Technique*Design

I enjoyed reading the history sections. Not a ton of different techniques but has good tips for designing your own socks. I have better reference books though.

I am new to sock knitting and ordered this book because I needed to understand the "why" of it and not just the "how". This book does that! I especially appreciate the calculators for toe-up and top-down socks and the handy worksheet. There is also a nice selection of decorative stitch patterns with a clear explanation of how to incorporate them into whatever size sock you're knitting. I'm very glad I added this book to my library. It will be a much used resource.

I was looking for a specific sock pattern. I found that pattern and then some.Content also covers a history of knitting, as well as information on techniques and designs.This is actually a beautiful book that would even look good on a coffee table.

I liked especially the Sock Yarn Chart (by weight), the Vogue Knitting Sock Calculator chart, and the Sock Worksheet. Good pictures and illustrations. Generally speaking, this is a clearly written, basic reference source for sock knitters at any level. Well Done!

Older book, but some information never gets old. Good historical information and several types of pattern. Worth it for the socks fitting chart alone!

I wouldn't recommend this book for a beginner which is what I am. I have been knitting for a while but am just learning to knit socks. This book was recommended to me as a great book but I find it much too advanced for me.

Very interesting and easy to read. It gives different methods for knitting socks with great photos. I am just learning to knit socks and I find it very useful. It arrived quickly too.

I can't speak German, but I had expected different kind of heels and too. But the stitches special for socks are inspiring for designing socks.
