ValvolineRestore & Protect Full Synthetic 5W-20 Motor Oil 5 QT

I have been using this oil in my 18 hyundai for the past 20k miles. I've been using less oil in between oil changes, my summer fuel mileage is at an all time high, and the engine isnt so rattle on cold starts.

I have a very old Honda, it is almost 270k. It runs well overall, gets me around with a few quirks… one of the more troubling quirks being a leaky piston ring that causes compression & oil burning issues. I have not considered pulling the engine to replace it, due to the age of the car it just isn’t worth the cost. For about 3 years I’ve just been letting it do its thing, driving gently and keeping my oil topped has kept it pretty steady.The marketing on this oil intrigued me, especially coming from Valvoline. The claims are lofty, which can be a red flag from some companies… however I have used many of Valvoline’s products with great results, so I definitely trust the brand overall.Nonetheless I did some deep research on this product, and found that most people were having noticeable results, and more importantly no one reported any negative side effects. I also learned that Valvoline is one of the ONLY lube/ vehicle fluid brands that has an R&D lab for their products, which is really cool. So they perform a lot of experiments to create new products like this.After about 2,000 miles now I can say I am a believer. My low compression issue is virtually gone. I am burning oil at about 1/2 the rate as it was before, so that is quickly improving as well. I also noticed the oil is still almost clear at 2k, which is unusual (usually it is starting to get darker at this point). I thought it would be even darker, just due to the deposits being cleared, but I guess my new oil filter is putting in work. I did top off with about 1/2 quart when I checked ( usually I have already downed a quart by now and ready for the next one).One thing to realize is you will probably have a lotttt of smoke coming out the exhaust on occasion while it cleans up. This was happening to me for about the first 500ish miles. It seems to have subsided but just one thing to look out for, and not to be afraid of. That means it’s working.

This newer Valvoline Restore & Protect is an awesome Full synthetic oil that cleans out sludge, carbon and the oil passages. The value is great for many vehicles that have not been taken well care of. The price is right on par with other Valvoline products and its lower quality competitors. I use this in a half dozen vehicles, even though they have been taken great care of. You can use it constantly going forward or 4-6 oil changes to clean up an engine. The VOA's show great additive and wear packages. It is API SP certified, but I believe SN Plus previously is a better API rating. Functionally, I can guarantee it works because I cut open my oil filters and have found carbon in the pleats. I will continue adding friends and families' vehicles into this product line.

He usado este aceite antes y ha sido una buena opción de compra, en esta ocasión compré esta versión de Valvoline porque miré a un mecánico profesional hablando con evidencias sobre los beneficios de esta versión de Valvoline, uno de ellos es que después de aproximadamente 3 cambios de aceite tu motor comienza ah auto limpiarse internamente dando como resultado un motor más afinado y ahorrador de combustible. Regresaré luego y actualizaré mi opinión para dar certeza de ello!

I liked that it came well packed and was not leaking anywhere. Now I'm sure if yours was, then the delivery people didn't take good care of that package.The was is very light, and hard to tell it's on the dipstick.It did seem to quiet down some of the vibration my car was having. I've ran it for nearly 400 miles and have had no adverse affects. Although the oil is still very light. I know it takes up to 4 oil changes to completely remove the carbon deposits, so I will have to be patient of course. My engine has over 130,000 miles, or about 209,200 km for all my other folk.$30.00 for a 5 qt jug is a good deal. I will be changing it around the 5-6000k mile mark. I don't listen to anyone that says synthetic can go for 10k miles, as that only can happen if those are all highway.I also didn't notice any change in my fuel effecientcy, switching from a conventional oil.
