This is for the energetic people skilled entrepreneur
Unless you have at least five years of good credit history, you will not be starting up a freight broker business. The book is not a waste of time, it is very informative. However, do be disillusioned that you can start up you own freight broker business without a reputable history of having all your ducks lined in row with financial lenders. If you have the luxury to borrow against your house or some other type of collateral, it is very possible to swing this operation. But you will be busy attending to the details, you are not going to be wandering around town like a fat cat thinking about the stack of money coming your way. There are risks involved, and you will be taking them with your money. Would I do it? Yes, I would give it try. A little prior logistics experience, excellent people skills, and being able to think as you dot the I's and cross the T's. And that is only the "basic everyday reality" of this business. Keep the screw-ups to a minimum and you would be fine. K.I.S.S.

Fire your editor.
The book was enjoyable to read. Some reviewers said all the information is already available by doing a Google search, but I like having it all in one spot, i.e. a book. I like that you offer people a free copy of future updates to the book. That being said, I'm sure I will receive an update that has corrections to the poor grammar and misspelled words. Don't take it too personally. Like I said, the book was very informative and kept me interested in a potential career in Freight Brokering. Thank you!

Great read
The author has first hand knowledge of the industry. I’m saying this from a point of being in the industry for over 15 years from the Carrier’s side. In addition to completing the brokers class with a prominent school, along with doing extensive research on the subject.

Excellent Read and Great Resource
Great reference for anyone looking to take a leap of faith into the trasportation industry as a Frieght Broker. It is possible to do this without a college degree in logistics.

Good for a laugh…
Bought this on a whim. The interior quality of the writing is reflected in the poor quality of the front cover. HahaIf you want a very high level view of freight brokering, I suppose this gives it to you. But the useful content could be condensed into 1-2 pages. The bulk of this thin book is filler copy. Large print, large margins, and what is clearly copy/pasted content.Clearly the same person did not write all of this book’s content. The narrative voice jumps from good ol’ boy common talk to what most closely matches broken foreign English. For example: “The software helps in administrative and operating processes that often comprise of general business activities and make a shielded database management system. It can assimilate with managers, employees, and drivers to know more about the prevailing business requirements.” Um, what did you just say, Bubba? There’s also a ton of useless filler, like the outline of a generic business plan (obviously taken from some random business book or government site), and instructions for downloading, printing, completing, and mailing a specific required form… including the mailing address to submit it. HahaWhat a joke. Good for a laugh.

Good overall read.
Have been interested in this line of work since '14. Found this online and decided 'why not'?Good overall read. LOTS of information on what to do to become a Broker and what it will cost for the various licenses, certificates and (of course), making sure the government gives you the magic wand-of-approval - AND - gets their 'slice o' the pie'.That said, it really doesn't go into the details of what the day-to-day operation is like, or what you'll be doing - or how to function as an agent or broker - a sorely missing detail if you're starting out. (guess that's why 'schools' make so much money teaching this).

To the point
It was a quick, easy and educational read. It gives you the very basics of the business. I used this book and many YouTube videos, articles and other websites to better understand how to start my brokerage business. So far we've started... waiting on the results.
