They didn’t explain how to get started. E.g. how to create the first line. However, the videos are brilliant for beginners, and I’d strongly recommend watching them. They take you step by step through absolutely everything, making the whole process less daunting.Despite the cute appearance of the little animals that can be made from this set, it’s perhaps too complicated a set for young children to use themselves, even with the videos. However, an adult or teenager would be able to make a lovely gift for a child with this set.If you’re looking for a way to get started with crotchet, then this is a lovely set that contains everything you need. It is great value for money and I would recommend it to others.

This is an ideal starter set for crochet, it really does have everything you need to get started. As a beginner I like that it is all in one set and it is all pretty straightforward and easy to understand. Plus it comes well presented in a box which could make it ideal to give as a gift too. There is an instruction booklet included and it is pretty easy to understand in the way it is set out. Although as ever you can also go online and look for tutorials etc in the form of a video. You do also get some stuffing so you can fully complete the animal you have crocheted and make it look even better.Overall the quality of the set is good, everything you need to begin and complete a crochet project is there. The yarn/wool feels nice and pretty soft and you do get lots of little accessories to help too. I’m happy with it!

So its a bit overwhelming when you open the kit as there 's a LOT in there (but its well packed in various bags so they are packaged well) - you have literally everything you will need, which is great. But for me its not easy to read instructions and process what bit of wool, crochet hook and finger goes where, but there is a link to video tutorials on you tube and these are brilliant - subtitled and very slow audible and visual instructions so they give you a really good idea of what you need to do if you are a complete beginner like me. Personally I think any children trying this will need adult supervision (as I'm an adult and I'm a bit confused) but its like doing anything new, its always tricky at first. Its a great priced set though and will at least give you a good feel about whether crochet is for you and thanks to the tutorials you are learning a new skillset and keeping the brain and fingers active !! Five Stars for a lovely set - great as a gift to send as well as its comprehensive and you dont' need to get anything else to get started.

I had never tried crocheting before and to be honest I was very frustrated at first because I couldn't do anything, but I think that's normal every time you try to learn a new skill.The printed instructions and not very useful but the videos are quite thorough and easy to follow; however, you might need to watch them several times to pick up the details.It's also complete with all the tools you need for a beginner's piece so it's worth the price. Overall I recommend this kit.

It is a craft project that takes time to do, but is easy to stop and pick up another day. It is more suitable for an adult or older child to make as some of the techniques are quite hard to do for a young child.
