Professional quality at a bargain price!
These strings come from a company in the Czech Republic. They are packaged âbulk,â meaning all six strings are wrapped together in a circle in a single package. Identifying which string is which is very easy since the end balls are color-coded â a practice used by several of the largest string producers.Iâve played guitar for over fifty years, and Iâve used just about every major manufacturer and type of strings available, so Iâm comparing these Henry strings to other string sets that retail for two and three times the price of Henryâs.At this gauge (I ordered the 12-53âs), the strings are still considered a âlightâ gauge. Once brought to pitch, they sing bright and pure, both open and while fretted. I was surprised at how well they stayed in tune without the need for periodic tweaking. The feel is smooth and fast, partly because of the light gauge, and partly because of the finish or coating. In short, these Henry strings are great. They settled down quickly after stringing. After about an hour of constant play, the normal and expected âmetallicâ harmonics - typical for any new set of strings â was reduced to an acceptable level. I was impressed that they maintained their tune throughout the constant play.If youâre changing the gauge of your strings â either from a thicker or lighter gauge to these, keep in mind that you will also be changing the tension on the neck. This may result in the truss rod needing a slight adjustment, but it is very easy to do, and yes, it is typical anytime you change string gauges. The manufacturer has done something with their packaging that Iâve never seen before. Rather than a simple box with six envelope-packaged strings, these include a box that opens flat with a full neck layout, including each note, chords, and other information that will be very useful, especially for the beginner guitarist.I might suggest the manufacturer make a pitch to guitar makers to include a set in every new guitar they sell â itâs an outstanding amount of helpful information that will help beginners start out on the right foot.In actual play, the bass was strong, the midrange nice and mellow, and the highs had a lot of presence. I donât use a pick, and play exclusively finger-style. All in all, the strings produced a âbalancedâ sound across the entire three octaves. (I used a Furch red master to test them on). Finally, letâs talk about value. The Henry strings perform as well, if not better, than strings that cost twice and three times as much, which tells me a lot of us have been paying more for branding than the actual product. So, save yourself some money and give the Henrys a try. Iâm sure theyâll sound as good as what youâre currently using, and itâs very likely theyâll sound even better.

String set with a few beginner goodies.
I haven't actually put these strings on my guitar yet as I am waiting for a replacement saddle. I will update this review accordingly once I've had the opportunity to evaluate the strings.I have 12 guitars, half of which are acoustic models. I have long established brands I typically use for string changes, which I do often, as I practice every day, attend open mics and generally play hard so even the best strings provide a limited lifespan.Of course I am open to trying any guitar strings so I ordered the Henry 12-54 gauge set. This particular set of Henry Strings is marketed and sold as something they call an Edu-Pack. This refers to the packaging sleeve that unfolds and has various information on notes and chords, includes a cardboard action gauge, and also a pick, 'fret polishing cloth' and guitar nail file.Obviously, the most important piece of this is the strings, which I will evaluate in an update to this review. As for the other items, I will say these could be interesting or helpful to a beginning player. The cardboard action gauge might be valuable for limited use if you are considering measuring and/or adjusting your guitar and are undecided about purchasing the steel version of this tool. I haven't verified the accuracy of the included gauge, but I would think it could be used to check your instrument. Experienced players will likely already own this tool. The other items, a pick, guitar shaped nail file and fret cloth are little whimsical touches, but again seem a bit unnecessary for any marginally experienced player.Update as of 4/25/2024:I restrung my ancient Takamine acoustic with the set of Henry's string shortly after writing the original review. This guitar has been with me since 1976. It is a little beat up, but has a full and warm sound. It is my "sits by the couch on a stand so I can pick it up anytime and play for 5 minutes or an hour" guitar. I don't take as good care of it as I should.By now I have had a about 6 weeks to evaluate these strings and I am very impressed. They ring clear and true, stay in tune and have stood up to my hard at times playing with fingers and pick and still sound really good. No splitting, fraying or peeling. I am going to purchase a few more sets to try out on my other guitars!

Works fine but doesnât last very long
These strings seem to work fine and sound plenty bright when first strung on the guitar. However, the seem to lose their tonal qualities much quicker than the name brand strings. The tensions on these strings feel comparable to the usual ones I use. They just seem to lose their tone within the first few days of playing regularly. While they are cheaper, you may ended up spending more to change these strings often. At that point you might as well spend a bit more and use the name brand strings. Theyâll stay sounding good longer and you wonât have to change them as often compared to these strings. But if youâre in a pinch and these fit your budget then they work just fine.

Great strings
I have been trying to play around with a lot of different strings and see exactly what I'm after. So far, these have been my favorite. They've lasted the longest, and sounded the best. I don't have a ton of music experience, but this has absolutely made a difference on my acoustic.

Great strings
I got these strings for my husband and he's been very happy with them. They are well made from quality materials so they are very durable. The strings sound great, are easy to put on the guitar, and are comfortable. They are priced fair and I would recommend them!

Great strings, lovely tone...
Bought these strings for a change from the heavier Rotosound set I've been using recently. These Henry's lights have a mellow tone, especially on the low notes, while the higher pitch strings produce a crisp and zingy treble, complimenting the mellow bass.Hope they last well and prove my initial impressions worthy, which are that they are quality strings well worth a try and sold at a reasonable price...

Funktioniert einwandfrei! Kaufempfehlung!
