It consumes battery power pretty quickly! It definitely outputs heat, however... the feeling of 150F vs 550F is noticeably similar! The largest difference is that you feel the gun consuming more power on the higher setting with the fan blowing faster. It was used to help me install a car spoiler on the 3M tape strips and also to soften up my sound deadening material during a speaker installation. The LCD display is much appreciated and the value for what you get is brilliant. There's definitely better products out there but for a significantly higher price. You get what you pay for, don't expect too much!
