The Essential Guide to Passing The Transportation Civil PE Exam Written in the form of Questions: 160 CBT Questions Every PE Candidate Must Answer

After scheduling my exam months in advance and failing to sign up for any on demand or in person courses, I purchased this book with a little over three weeks until my PE exam. After solving each and every problem in the book, I went into the exam feeling fairly confident, after having doubts previously due to my lack of preparation. Because of this book and the detailed solutions within, I was able to pass my PE exam on my first attempt. I highly recommend purchasing this book in advance of your test and taking time to solve each and every question. If I could give this a rating higher than five stars, I would.

If could rate this book 6 stars. I would! I was fortunate enough to pass my exam on the first try and I am adamant that this book was the major key in that achievement. At first, I felt that the questions in the book were extremely difficult. I went through the book a second time and realized that taking my time and understanding the way that the questions were answered was a great help. with such in-depth questions that make you think and the fact that there are 160 of them, I believe that this book gave me huge exposure to most the resources provided by NCEES to where I was mostly prepared for anything they could throw at me. the best way I could describe this book in comparison to the exam is that it prepares you for a marathon when you’re only going to run a 5K. I would recommend this book to any future examinees. I know a lot of people opt for the thousand dollar courses, but I felt that with enough dedication and effort I could get it done for much less and I can say confidently that without this book I could not have done it. 10 out of 10.

Very difficult problems but laid out in a way that really helps you understand the concepts and references for preparation for the Civil PE Transportation. It is not so much a practice exam as it is a difficult problem set designed to get you familiar with the references in depth. It is good enough that it could be used in lieu of a traditional review course. A big part of my prep that helped me pass. Would highly recommend.

I used this product along with other study materials to study for my 2nd attempt on the PE Exam. I will say that a lot of the problems are more difficult than actual exam problems but if you can understand the concepts it helps a lot on the exam. This book is definitely one of the reasons I passed my PE exam. It’s perfect for the project management section. Every question I was asked in project management I was able to get through with ease because of this book. I feel like I got a perfect score on that section. The book also forces you to use almost every section of the manual, which helps a lot.

I got this book the week before my exam (which I’d recommend getting it MUCH sooner). Took the entire week off and studied from this book. Truly humbling for me since I scored well on the NCEES practice exam but also incredibly insightful. Finishing this book made me more confident about the exam! I highly recommend solving the problems in here and truly understanding the solutions (not looking until you’ve exhausted your ideas).

This guide was very helpful in my preparation for the Transportation PE exam. This guide is helpful in learning how to use the various refferences that are on the exam. There is even a summary of the chapters in the refferences on the exam. This is very important since part of the exam is learning how to efficiently navigate through the manuals in a timely manner. The solutions are very detailed and provide tips and strategies while taking the exam. This guide is not to be mistaken as a practice exam, it is exactly as the title suggests, a guide. I think this guide will help solidify your preparation for the PE exam. Jacob Petro, the author of this guide included his email in the book and responds quickly to any questions. I would highly recommend this guide for anyone taking the exam.

My advise to all exam takers is to solve as many questions as possible, the good thing about this book is that it has 160 questions, most of the questions if not all, are well thought out, they are detailed, and they cover each and every aspect of traffic and transportation engineering, also project management, and geotechnical, hydraulics and the relevant hydrology... what I like most is the referencing, this book references all the codes and manuals needed... I went through the solutions twice, maybe three times before the test... it encouraged me to go through the manuals and read more... generally the book is well written, you can say that it is a high quality book from the amount of details it contains and the particular attention to details that I found... I even went back to the author with a question and he responded almost immediately, my question was a concern that a question could be solved in another way, his explanation was very detailed and compelling and he pointed out the errors that are in the some of the manuals showing me how detail oriented he was! bottom line, you want to pass, you want a great coverage and explanation, and someone who you can email and ask about things, don't wait on it...

This is the best review book on transportation PE preparation. I passed in August, 2024. Will apply for licensure soon. Green book portion of this book is unparalleled. Simply too good to be. Good coverage on geotech and water. I think I correctly answered 32 out of 35 questions in the afteenoon section in the actual exam after a horrible morning section. A big credit for my afternoon sectiom success goes to this book. Decent on MUTCD portion. The only drawback (I shouldn’t say drawback) is that the HCM related problems in this book are too lengthy and tough. I only practiced this book and NCEES official practice exam two times each for the last one and half month before my exam. This literally saved me from failure.
