Honeywell M847D-ZONE/U Replacement Motor for Ard and Zd Zone Dampers, 24V

The media could not be loaded. This worked as a nice replacement for my old damper motor/actuator that had stopped working. I did not replace a Honeywell brand actuator. It was an old Cramer Company motor that I couldn’t find anywhere. It’s likely a builder brand that doesn’t exist anymore. It did work for 16 years so there’s that.This new one worked just fine. It’s 24v like the old one and can be set for spring open (normally open) and powered close, just like my old one did. Wiring was easy. I have a Honeywell Home zone controller so it was easy to match the two wires. You need M1 and M6 for the two wires. I believe M4 is for the led lights that I didn’t use. I don’t plan to go into the100degF attic often to look at blinking lights.Only small comment is that the owner’s manual does not show the diameter of the anti-rotation piece that you need to insert into the damper wall. If you have an hole for it already, great, but I didn’t so I needed to drill one. I figured it to be 5/16” diameter and 1-3/16” from the center of the actuator. Maybe include a rubber grommet for the hole for the $110 price tag. I guess that’s two comments.Btw my HVAC guy would’ve charged $300 plus parts to install this so roughly $500 with his markup.

Easy to install, great upgrade from old model - works perfect. Easy to see if the damper is open or closed. Easy adjustment to open damper 1/2 way or more or less.

Direct model replacement for my Zone 1 damper controller. Install was easy and everything needed was supplied.

My heating and air guy advised me to purchase this when my zone heating wasn't working properly. Much more cost-effective than having the heating and air company charge you for their own product when this is exactly what they use. Took him just a minute to install it and I haven't had any problems since.

The original one that came with the house lasted 5 years. This one is working great, and I hope lasts another 5 years.

So easy to install and just like that our AC was fixed.

This was an easy replacement once troubleshooting proved the damper motor was the issue. It took more time getting into the attic than replacing the unit. The box came with two set screws, but I only used the short one to avoid having it get caught with the insulation. There was no tool or key included in the package, but I had the right size Allen wrench bit. Make sure you tighten the set screw very firmly, so it doesn't come loose over time. I hope this newer replacement will last longer than the older model I had to replace.
